If you haven’t heard of M.Gemi, it’s a hidden gem of a shoe company, handmade with beautiful craftsmanship in Italy and sold direct online without a middleman to keep prices fair. I bought my first pair of M.Gemi suede boots a couple months ago and was impressed right off the bat with the gorgeous presentation, right down to the personalized tag. As you can imagine, the suede boots were buttery soft and perfect. And because they’re brilliant too, they introduce a new style of shoe every Monday for those of us with obsessive shoe habits … which is probably bad for my wallet but extremely good for my shoe fetish. Speaking of, I’m obsessed with these white Proprio pumps. They are terrific with a pleated skirt or shorts and a blouse. The latter seems to be my weekend look on repeat. Many thanks to M. Gemi for elevating it. Ps. These are limited edition – so get yours before they’re sold out!

FullSizeRenderHappy March 1! I’m celebrating in all things white, because white not?

1. FRANK & EILEEN a timeless white button down for dressing up or down.

2. DÔEN love this peasant top and all items from this site are under $200. Crazy good.

3. EQUIPMENT  everyone needs a short sleeve crisp white top for their cutoffs and skirts.

Since we’ve been too tired (READ EXHAUSTED) for date night, we planned date morning. So brilliant. We came back re-energized to tackle the hot chocolate mix spilled in the girls closet, the missing gum we got from Costco the other night, and the fights that broke out after the before mentioned missing gum. Hence the day date. What better way to celebrate you and your man getting away for avocado salad and killer oatmeal cookies than in lace, flats and a soft denim jacket? I’m already planning next Saturday’s day date, and maybe squeezing in a little work if the hubs is up to it. Hope you had a lovely weekend!

IMG_7921IMG_7745 IMG_7746One of my favorite ways to transition from winter to spring is a camel coat! I love how flattering it is with most colors. Here, I paired it with an oversize lace top from Veronica Beard and white tennis skirt. For my northern readers, a great pair of white jeans could replace the skirt. Perfect for upcoming bridal showers or brunching. Speaking of, there are so many places I want to try for brunch here in LA. Send over any recommendations. happy weekend!

I think it’s safe to say that LA winter is officially over. These past couple days have been more like spring, messing us up like crazy. My kids keep asking if we can go to the pool. So, if you’re curious, this blush trench is pretty amazing and adapts to both spring and summer. It even manages winter, if you have the luck of living in California. So, it’s also probably safe to say that you’ll be seeing it again.

So, a couple of you asked how you can shop my outfits and what the heck is @Liketoknow.it? The registration process is quite simple. I was skeptical myself, because I don’t like getting a ton of emails. However, you can adjust your email preferences and receive links to everything from those awesome ripped jeans, pointed toe heels or awesome blazer cape you’ve been eyeing. Yes.

Here are 3 easy steps to register:

1. Register on the www.LIKEtoKNOW.IT website

2. “Like” Instagrams that include the www.liketk.it/xyz links

3. Receive ready-to-shop product links to your inbox

Every time I link a product, it takes research. And yes, if an item is sold out, I link a similar option. As always, email me shalice@shalicenoel.com or comment here with your thoughts comments, suggestions. Happy Thursday! X

IMG_9379 I’ve been thinking a lot about discipline lately. Especially with our big move, I feel like it’s a great time to clean house and start afresh with a new year, a new state, and new goals. Like most creatives, one of my personal struggles is be more disciplined! Beyond fixing my bed and waking up before the sun, I’d love to get into a disciplined routine that covers my responsibilities of mother, wife and business owner.

Here is my version of Five Steps to a Disciplined Life, slightly adapted from Forbes.

  1.  Remove temptations and ask a friend to keep you accountable. If Facebook is a temptation, delete the app; if it’s potato chips, throw them away (and then toss the garbage bag outside because … you know).
  2.  Eat regularly and healthily. A ziploc bag of almonds can fill in for that unexpected meal you missed and keep you focused for that surprise meeting or not-so-surprising toddler tantrum.
  3. Don’t wait for it to feel right. It takes at least 2 weeks for a pattern to begin as habit, so keep moving forward. Remember the book, The Little Engine that Could? You can. Really.
  4. Schedule breaks, treats, and rewards. Hello Net-A-Porter, or seriously, just some new gym shoes, to reward treadmill time, crack of dawn mornings, and working when you least feel like working! We need our rewards, people!
  5. Forgive yourself and move forward. Let a handful of friends and people who believe in you encourage you in your down days. Because we all have them. Seth Godin said, “Waiting for perfect is never as smart as making progress.”
