I’m all about the simple #ootd. Let’s be honest, I struggle everyday to get four children out of the house for school, so I’ve been finding myself gravitating toward the simplest of pieces. Here, a shirtdress, faux leather leggings, and and edgy nude heels take center stage. It also happens to be just as appropriate for meetings as it is for date night. For the latter, I would add a suede jacket and lace up boot . After all, basics can very well be classics when paired well. As for the smiles from my little guy, I’d like to thank the dried mango and lollipops, not shown.

Maybe I liked it better than the hustle of Manhattan? One thing is true, whether I’m hustling in Manhattan or lounging in Brooklyn, I love a fresh take on stripe a la cold shoulder. The latter of which I will be wearing all fall. Happy Humpday!

I’ll admit I have a leopard problem right now. I’ve got leopard coming out of my ears in the form of pretty pointed flats, sexy coats and pencil skirts. However, the moment you touch this soft coat, you’ll find a similar obsession at hand. I cannot wait to dress it down with cropped denim and a thin sweater. Maybe even these boots? After all, I’m pretty sure leopard’s a neutral.

After a ruffle-white-clad summer, I’m all about donning the leopard and parading the bell sleeves. And did I mention, both pieces are under $50? Fall has me craving leopard styled with some of my favorite black pieces: black pumps and a classic mock neck. Furthermore, treat leopard like Kool-Aid – add lots of water (aka solid colors) if you want to play it down Jackie O. style. I prefer all black, denim or white! Last week, I had the privilege in between shows and meetings, a stop at the landmark Grand Central Station. It was a first for me and so iconic! The giant windows, the chandeliers and overall stunning room was breathtaking. One of the many reasons I love charming New York city, despite the humidity that killed my hair. True story.

Who doesn’t love a couple of Fall scores? I’m always searching for lace-up sweaters, durable (ahem, flattering) faux leather leggings, and lace up boots … all of which I’m wearing here. I’m always telling friends and followers that it doesn’t take lots of money to refresh your wardrobe if you invest in the basics. And this chunky knit goodness is under $50, leggings are under $100 and my (go-to) lip stain is $24. How’s that for Friday Faves?

Everyone needs a luxe piece that will upgrade any look. I could not stop wearing this one over fashion week. It went with everything and brought an edge to my usual black ensemble. I also like this suede over shirt under $200. A great piece for fall. Next post I’ll be sharing our routine. One of my most requested blog posts. Feel free to weigh in with your questions. Happy Almost Friday!

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetThis top is making all my high school black bandana dreams come true. I like pairing it with the oh-so-stretchy black jeans. Because it’s all about blouses, prints, and movement, (aka fringe) this Fall. Love seeing all the looks and discovering so many amazing labels here at NYFW. Back in LA in 24 hrs. Happy weekend loves!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from NYFW this week, it’s that prints, billowing sleeves, and neck ties are going nowhere. Invest in a dress now with either the above, play with neutral or oxblood accessories. Add a trench for when the temperature dips and revel in the compliments. This is our last day in NYC, can’t wait to show you more from my week. Happy Monday!

coloring2-2Few things in the fashion world excite me more than denim and trench coats. Here’s one of my favorite layer combinations: stripe turtleneck, trench, and denim cutoffs, minus the chunky knit of course. I will save the latter for my next trip to New York. Until then, I’m stocking up on striped turtlenecks for LA’s chill winter, which is mostly dry heat and overwhelming sun. I’m certainly not complaining. Happy Fashion Week guys! Stay tuned for a wrap up next week.
