I thought it would be fun to share with you girls my minimalist summer wardrobe. You know that I love my neutrals, and elevated accessories. Here I styled the Pintail sandals four ways. I know that I’ll personally be wearing these four outfits on repeat. Which is your favorite?

Which is your favorite look?

We spent 4 dreamy days in Riviera Maya, Cancun, Mexico to celebrate Unico’s one year anniversary. Since I was their very FIRST influencer to stay at Unico and promote it, I was asked to be the first to hit the pinata. While I was feeling a little sick (2 months pregnant with baby Levi), the beach, the gorgeous scenery, and chill time by the pool made me feel WAY better. One of our biggest regrets was missing out on the excursions thanks to our flight arriving late. Be sure to organize that right away with your guide. Hopefully there will be a next time! The resort is all-inclusive that means food and beverage is covered with the price of your stay. Reid and I both agreed this is THE BEST WAY TO VACATION. There is much less stress having to pull out the Amex every time you order a daiquiri or guacamole and chips. And while we are on the subject, don’t miss out from their signature avocado smoothies you can order from the cafe. Insider’s tip. Have you been?

Here are some common questions I got about our stay at Unico Resort.

It is all inclusive?

Yes all meals are prepaid. It wonderful to have one less thing to think about! Hello fresh chips and guac on the beach.

Are children welcome?

It is an adult only resort. Leave the kids with Granny!

Room with a pool vs Room with a tub?

However I missed the tub, we both agreed we loved the pool room by the beach and pool!

–What to pack for Mexico–

White and black tanks and tees

Sun screen!

Forget the designer bags at home. I barely needed a bag

Rompers jumpsuits and dresses for evenings

Outfit deets below. Let me know if I missed anything and if you have any other questions in the comments!

It’s that time of year when I’m scoping out everything spring. I was pleasantly surprised recently to find so many good things at Walmart.com! Have you checked out their selection? There are tons of fun pieces that are super affordable, which makes it really easy to try out new trends this season. I picked up quite a few pieces and wanted to share them to give you a little peek at what’s happening over on Walmart’s website.

More wide leg pant options:

My pants, stripe tee, trench coat, and sandals are all from Walmart! Loving the pants a lot because they’re a wide leg, which I wear all the time and love. The stripe tee is a good staple that I know I’m going to get so much wear out of. As for the trench, who doesn’t love a good trench coat? They’re classic and perfect for layering up during the spring. I currently have a few of them hanging in my closet, but if you need something affordable and basic, this option from Walmart.com is definitely the one to start out with.
What are you guys shopping for this spring? Are you looking for basics or trends? Whatever it is, if you want to keep it at an affordable price point, I highly recommend checking out Walmart’s online selection – there’s a lot of really good things happening!

Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post!

Monday Notes

When you’re feeling uninspired what do you do? When I’m feeling uninspired, I reach for one accessory that inspires me or “sparks joy”! This time it was this vintage inspired logo canvas Fendi bag. It is so simple yet classic and timeless. I reached for my (under $100) trench coat, denim shorts, and oversize sweater to complete the look. If you really wanted to kick it up a notch for date night, I would add a red lip! Bare Minerals “Srsly Red” is a new favorite.

Some Weekend Notes:

I’m loving these hair pills and these gummies, have you tried? My friend, a cancer survivor, said this collagen is helping her come back in nice and full. Yay!

I just started using ACV – apple cider vinegar – 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup of water, to rinse over scalp first before use of shampoo and conditioner. It helped my hair feel lighter and less oily.

My alo faux fur jacket is back in stock in all sizes, hooray!

I’m obsessed with these lentil chips that have protein. They’re almost too yummy to be called “healthy”

Have a great weekend!

Gucci belt // GG sneakers // black jeans // Black OTK boots // white peasant top // white tee // black tee // trench // camel coat // white turtleneck and this one // leopard boots // red hat // denim jeans // leather jacket and THIS one is on sale for $52) // rocker tee and this one // denim shorts and this longer version // leopard skirt

When I was packing for 2 weeks in Omaha and Chicago this Christmas, I was struck by what pieces I continue to use over and over again. From a trusty camel coat and Gucci belt to flattering black jeans, you don’t need thousands of items to look chic, but really only a couple. I’ve traveled a lot, styled thousands of outfits and have scoured the internet for the practical yet chic pieces. I also am a firm believer in “investment buys” such as Stuart Weitzman OTK boots. Are they pricy, yeah! Will I wear them 25+ times this fall/Winter/Spring, YES. So the cost per wear is worth it. And you know what, I only used a couple like over the knee boots and black jeans that seemed to go with everything. Don’t tell Reid I didn’t need such a big bag. See below some faves the in the below categories.

Jackets and Coats

Jackets and coats are worth the investment. After all, they coverup a whole outfit. So invest wisely.

camel coat // trench // black leather jacket // faux leather jacket

Tops / Sweaters

rocker tee // white turtleneck sweater // peasant top

Pants / Jeans

black jeans // denim jeans // faux leather pants

Shoes

GG sneakers // nude pumps (under $60!) // black pumps // black boots // red flats // leopard boots

Handbags/Accessories

red bag // Chloe Faye // black bag // black backpack

clutch by Olga Berg // sequin joggers // turtleneck sweater // sneakers // sunnies similar // camel coat zara similar //

clutch by Olga Berg // sequin joggers // turtleneck sweater // sneakers // sunnies similar // camel coat zara similar //

I’m a huge fan of flattering joggers let alone sequin joggers. Sometimes you need a little pop of metallic to wake up an otherwise neutral winter look. I’m wearing a small and it has a drawstring waist. I like the classic jogger ankle to compliment a pump for evening or sneaker for day. My wardrobe needs to be as versatile as my lifestyle!

Have you tried sequin joggers?

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you may have already seen this. But if you’re like most people, we want to spend smarter in 2019. Do you agree? I did some research and found the 7 ways to spend less in 2019 from cutting your latte intake to staying in. Read on!

1. Say goodbye to joe.According to research, average American’s spends approx 1,100$ or $3 a day on coffee

Even if you just buy a $2 latte four days a week, you’d still have spent $6,149.98 after 10 years.

2. Stop collecting, start selling. There are some great sites out there where you can sell your goods: eBay, Poshmark, ReBag, etc.

3. Turn off the TV. According to research, you’ll save more than just on your electricity bill. You will be exposed to less spend inducing ads, end your cable coverage, focus on other things like a side gig, etc.

4. Stick to your list. Just ask Reid, I’m horrible at his, but when I stick to the list I save myself from the last minute impulse buys!

5. Break out the crock or insta pot. I just bought my first insta pot cookbook!

6. Going out or staying in. STAY IN! Save lots of benjamins when you stay in!

7. Cancel the gym membership you don’t use. download an app and do it with a friend for accountability

What about you, what ways are you spending smarter in 2019? I’d love to hear!

What I’m wearing:

Many of you asked what my favorite popcorn seasoning is, and it is NACHO SEASONING. My kids and I are obsessed and always making it over the weekend.

1/4 c nutritional yeast // 1 tsp salt // 1 tsp ground paprika // 1/2 tsp of each garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, 1/4 tsp ground cumin // 3/4 cup coconut oil, melted, 8 cups popped popcorn

Combine nutritional yeast, salt and spices in aa small bowl. Drizzle oil over popped popcorn and spice mixture.

Enjoy and have a great week!

Just add a Blazer

by Shalice Noel

blazer and similar // jeans under $100! // tank only $10! // flats and similar

Nothing says you mean business like a blazer and I’m loving this oversize version. I love this outfit for meetings and after school activities. Who else keeps a pair of sneakers in their car? I rounded up some favorites blazers below:

This week, I haven’t been going to events but rather running at the park every day with the kiddos, and being intentional. I’m intentionally not booking up my week like weeks past. This allows me to be more present with my kids and meet them where they need to be met with anything they are facing. When I’m stressed from being in 3 hours of traffic, I’m not the best mom I can be. So, saying no to events on the west side and opening my week has been a blessing.

I also went off coffee, can you believe? I won’t lie, I do miss it but I am less jittery and more peaceful this week. My collagen powder just now goes into hot almond milk. Its not amazing, but hey it works and I’m still getting my protein and collagen. Read more of my routine HERE. What about you, how was your week?

So many good graphic tees! Here’s some faves below:
