I’m a little embarrassed how much I’ve worn these jeans and I couldn’t help but pair them with this cute watermelon top and pink mary janes. Isn’t this top cute? It makes me crave more frozen watermelon smoothies we’ve been making lately. So yum! I included the recipe below.

Chia Watermelon Smoothie (adapted from Minimalist Baker)

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen watermelon
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 ripe banana previously peeled, chopped and frozen
  • 1/2 – 3/4 cup (120-180 ml) unsweetened plain almond milk
  • 1 lime, juiced (~30 ml)
  • 1 Tbsp chia or hemp seeds (I like chia)

Blend in a blender till smooth. Add more frozen strawberries if you want it thicker. Enjoy and happy Monday!

Here’s what I wore to WHO WHAT WEAR’s fall preview in Hollywood. I may be partial, but they put on the best parties! I’m also partial to a pop of red (which you already knew if you’re following me on insta). This whole outfit is budget friendly, for instance my pants are $35! What are you up to this weekend? We’re excited to spend the long holiday at the beach with dear friends from Chicago. Can’t wait! Be sure to stop and savor this time with our loved ones.

What’s the recipe for the comfiest outfit? Oversize sweater, flats, and jeans. Honestly, I’m not HUGE into flats but they’re terribly practical walking around with half a preschool, so yes I’m a fan. If you’re curious what to buy – that’s doesn’t cost more than your monthly latte budget, scroll down. I’d steer away from overly trendy, certainly durable and just a trifle interesting to upgrade the momiform.

Oversize sweaters are my jam. Endless comfortable opportunities with flats and jeans.

Speaking of jeans, these black ones are under $50, and these faux leather leggings are awesome and under $30, you’re welcome!

Flats are the shoes you wear when you have a non-stop day, lots of demands and carrying children, etc. These are some I love:

I’m not sure what I love more, long summer nights sipping wine on the porch or awesome bodysuits I can’t stop wearing Monday through Saturday. I’ve been wearing this ruffled one so much so, its embarrassing. Even hubby made a comment! It’s chic with jeans, a skirt or pleated pants. Here, I’m wearing it with a linen trench, distressed jeans and fall’s must-have red boots. I’m linking some of my favorites below. Hope you have a lovely Monday!

A bodysuit is a summer must-have that easily transitions to fall. And did I mention a bodysuit with an interesting back is even better? Here are some of my favorites:

Red boots are fall’s stunner, get them before they sell out during NYFW. I love them with denim or a punch of color paired with a monochromatic look:

I love a lightweight trench for layering casual or dressy looks. It’s an easy way to look “pulled together” without trying too hard.

What are some of your favorite layers?

My outfit:

poncho :: tank :: cutoff shorts and similar for $60

A tank is that understated must that works hard under those overalls, paired with the cutoffs, and everything in between. I brought over 6 tanks on our road trip this summer and was amazed how many outfits I got out of them. If you love to layer, pair a cozy cashmere cardigan with jeans or a leather jacket. Boom, its a 5 minute outfit, because as moms we all know that is all we have right? My advice is, stock up, they’re worth the small investment and see my top 5 favorites below.

Comment with your favorite!

Me and my friend Tasha went to the flower market and must have been an orange mood because we picked out all the orange flowers with the exception of eucalyptus. It was an invigorating morning seeing all the beautiful bunches of flowers and closely followed by double shot lattes. A must. If you’re familiar with my instagram and stories, you will notice I have been wearing these jeans on repeat. They’re so fun to wear and really flattering. Don’t forget to check in to shop my instagrams if you haven’t. Happy Thursday!

Fourth of July has to be one of my favorite holidays to dress for. Who doesn’t love red, white and blue. Here, I’m showing some of my hand-picked favorites from graphic tees to a fray skirt (I just ordered) to the comfiest red sandals to the essential wrinkle blocker straw hat. Never enough gingham – EVER. We are filming a fun project today, so stay tuned. I plan to share it on every channel once it goes live. And yes, I’m a little nervous but even more excited to share it. Cheers to lots of gingham, pool days and the weekend!

The best way to get out the door is have some favorite basics on hand. I’m loving the embroidered hem on these jeans, linen blend stripes and not too high block heels. And I never leave home without a large mom bag full of snacks, heels, and a small bag.

I started out blogging thrifting in Chicago. You would be amazed at what I would find: designer duds and quality basics. It also afforded me the freedom to go bold with my style. For example, I usually would find a $5 tee and $9 crazy stripe pants, so no sweat to the wallet. And if I didn’t end up liking it, I would just donate it back or sell it on my instagram shop @herchicboutique. It was a fun and mildly therapeutic habit. And habit it became. I would get a sitter so I could go down there and thrift. On the days I didn’t have a sitter, I would bring all four kids, two holding the cart (if they were being good) and two inside the cart. I would always bring tons of crackers and cringe at how many we left in our path. Hilarious. But I always found some treasures from Smythe blazers to James Pearse tees to Frame denim just to name a few, all of which I would boast to Reid when he got home. As a stylist, I was in heaven, the suspense of not knowing what I would find was addictive. Fast forward almost 4 years, and I love blogging, and I’m grateful to have brands sending clothes to me. However, occasionally I buy $39 jeans with a great hem, slash the knees and fray wherever necessary. So, that’s exactly what I did for today’s post. I love an under $50 item I don’t freak out when dirt, coffee, and the like get spilled on them. But I’m SO INCREDIBLY grateful for the people and places and faces I have had the pleasure of meeting through my blog and instagram and I will never forget that little dingy thrift shop where it all started, and the countless times my family, my uber driver, my neighbor, etc,  took pictures for me. Thank God. I would not be where I am today.
