Today I visited my local Nordstrom with Reid and styled some looks! There were too many florals and print if you ask me so I combed through the selection with a fine tooth comb. Which look is your favorite?

Mother Jeans – have tons of stretch so you can go down a size. I tried on a 26, and 25, and ended up getting a 25.

FRAME dress. Gorgeous shape, sleeves and cut. A must have if it’s not sold out. I got a small/.

Sam Edelman boots I went down half a size since they were sold out of size 9.

L’Agence Flares – I got my true 26

Valentino Belt not included in the NSALE, but its reversible, I’ve worn it more times than I can count and downright chic. Definitely, a worthy investment buy.

Ted Baker Trench – super chic but keep in mind it runs small, I’m wearing a size 1 here.

Pink Nordstrom Suit Pant and Blazer. Sold separately. I got a small in the blazer, size 4 in the pants.

FRAME pink silk top I got a small

Treasure & Bond Stripe Sweater – I got a medium since oversized is so hot right now. I love a cozy knit for fall.

Cloud Swift Running Shoe – So comfy. I got my true size. Now I know why this brand has a huge cult following.

Eileen Fisher Wide leg pants – perfect for travel, with pockets. I got an XS (sz 2-4) and has a comfy viscose spandex blend. Made in USA.

Louis Vuitton Toiletry 26 Bag – love this underrated bag for day or night!

There’s many ways to style a peasant top for fall, but this is my favorite way: denim. Shorts or jeans! Here’s the flares I’m wearing and shorts. If you live in a cooler climate, I’d recommend adding a camel coatigan. Which is your favorite?

My in-laws are in town and date nights were the original plan. However, life had other plans. Levi got sick and won’t let go of me, so goodbye freedom and yummy Italian food at Gales alone with Reid. Oh well, my mother-in law organized my kitchen cabinets so I can’t complain too much. We got a raincheck for a date night at Gale’s.

I found this polka dot camisole online on sale — love the print. It came with a skirt that I also ordered. However, it didn’t look good on me. So I styled it with my old favorite denim, practical hat (in this 100 degree heat) and pink blush sandals.

Which is your favorite?

What are your plans for the Fourth? The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. good food, friends, and a chilly evening watching the fireworks. And maybe a day to sleep in? Levi hasn’t been the greatest sleeper but maybe he too will get the hint that its a holiday weekend. 2 years ago we went to the San Marino fireworks display at Lacy Park. While it was beautiful, scenic and fun to be with friends, never again! One of our friend’s daughter went missing and it was too many people to keep track of our then 4 children. So since last year, we started a tradition of watching the fireworks at Lake Arrowhead. Some of you know we have an A Frame we renovated here that we rent out. This year, we look forward to 4 days of clean mountain air at Lake Arrowhead. We can’t wait! Let’s transition to an upcoming sale in 11 days!!

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

It is a HUGE sale on Fall new arrivals. Those who have the card, get “early access” because hot items always sell out first. Everything from booties to coats are up to 40% off. I still have these rag + bone booties I got from the sale 40% off retail that I still wear and LOVE. HERE is a sneak peek of the sale.

Don’t forget, my shop page is open 24/7, you can follow me on the free Liketoknow.it app “shalicenoel” for quick links, and you can always “shop my instagrams.”

Also, FYI start preparing now for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! 1. Become a cardholder. I did this 2 years ago just to enter the sale early access and I’m SO glad I did. Sign up now for a $60 note! That is basically free money and a gift card to spend on whatever. Like that La Mer lotion you’ve been eying. 2. This sale is on NEW ARRIVALS. That is why this sale is SUCH A BIG DEAL. I literally get butterflies in my stomach nervous happy just thinking about it. It begins July 12, and be sure to follow my newsletter, Instagram and blog. I will aim to publish my blog post will my favorites from the sale from beauty devices to best in sale heels, boots and flats, at 12:30am, July 12. I don’t sleep much that day, haha. But it’s worth it. I still love the rag + bone boots I bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale about 40% off retail. Now that’s worth a little loss of sleep.

Nite Jogger (size 9) in white/pink

This lightweight Nite Jogger, originally meant to stand out at night, is a perfect day statement that carries your look from the gym to shopping with friends. The colors were the first thing that drew me to the shoes. I LOVE the combination of pinks and mauve. It brings out my all black ensemble underneath my trench. The latter of which I’ll admit is my go-to outfit. I was pleasantly surprised with the complimentary fast shipping from Finish Line. The shoes are lightweight and fresh for spring. As for style, its a marriage between the dad sneaker and a chic running shoe. Stand out this spring in the hottest IT shoe. Get it before it sells out!

Nike’s on Repeat

by Shalice Noel

So many of you asked about this outfit after I posted it on social this week. I love mixing high and low, casual and sophisticated. As for outfit details, my Nike’s are $90, worn with a trench, cropped jeans and a baseball cap.

I love gingham because it never goes out of style. I’m happy to announce going up a size in this top really accommodated my growing baby bump! I paired this top with some classic white jeans with a gorgeous raw hem. I included some of my favorites below!

As always my shop page is open 24/7 and check out some of my picks for the Nordstrom half yearly sale!

When I think about what I’m most comfortable in, denim, a graphic tee, booties, and a cool jacket is always a go-to combo. It’s easy yet fashionable, which is how I like to think of my style. Part mom, part fashion girl.

As fall rolls around, I live in that combination. I’m very excited for all things velvet this season, and as blazers are more popular than ever, I’ve had fun mixing different versions into my outfits. When I first saw this chartreuse velvet jacket, I fell in love, even though the color might seem hard to style. I’ve personally always been attracted to unique statement pieces, and a color like this fits the bill. Paired down with ripped denim and a neutral graphic t-shirt, and the outfit instantly becomes California cool – a vibe I’m always into.

And because I can’t get enough of red at the moment, I mixed in two splashes to make the look feel even more like me. Fashion is supposed to be fun, and I’m all about an unexpected combination – whether colors, prints, whatever. My black booties didn’t do enough to compliment this jacket, but the red ones made the entire outfit feel more edgy and cool. A very effortless “I just threw this on but it works” kind of look, right?

I’ve already talked about adding pops of red into your wardrobe, but don’t be afraid to mix it with other hard-to-wear pieces. And do me a favor and see how red looks instead of reaching for neutral accessories on autopilot. Sometimes meshing the unexpected is the perfect combination!

Watermelon Smoothie

by Shalice Noel

ballet heel COLE HAAN :: top RAILS :: jeans rag & bone and these :: sunnies CHLOE

I’m a little embarrassed how much I’ve worn these jeans and I couldn’t help but pair them with this cute watermelon top and pink mary janes. Isn’t this top cute? It makes me crave more frozen watermelon smoothies we’ve been making lately. So yum! I included the recipe below.

Chia Watermelon Smoothie (adapted from Minimalist Baker)

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen watermelon
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 ripe banana previously peeled, chopped and frozen
  • 1/2 – 3/4 cup (120-180 ml) unsweetened plain almond milk
  • 1 lime, juiced (~30 ml)
  • 1 Tbsp chia or hemp seeds (I like chia)

Blend in a blender till smooth. Add more frozen strawberries if you want it thicker. Enjoy and happy Monday!
