Spring break is just around the corner. Whether you’re living la vida loca or enjoying a staycation, a new swim suit or sundress may be in order. I’m loving these sandals with just enough embellishment to make them special and this graphic tee. The latter reminds me of a panama jack yellow tee I used to fight over with my sisters and being the youngest girl, I didn’t always come up on top.

Style tip, knot the graphic tee over the swimsuit, or use a light wrap to wear over a swimsuit so it looks like a bodysuit. Next tip, look better in whatever you wear with a ‘fake tan.’ I use tan towels for my body and this serum for my face (I buy “medium” and don’t use tan towels on my face since my face is more sensitive).

Whether you’re home or away, I hope it’s relaxing and you enjoy a good book and the ones you love most! We will likely be at Lake Arrowhead enjoying the lake and pine trees.

Happy Humpday!

As always my shop page is open 24/7 and check out some of my picks for the Nordstrom half yearly sale!

This is probably my favorite time of year. Even in California where we have year-round warm weather, everything just feels fresh and fun. It’s the perfect time to clean out your closet and add a few new spring-inspired dresses. There are so many colorful options available around Easter that it’s hard to pick just one, so I’ve pulled together five of my must-haves. One of my absolute favorites, though, is this yellow number.
First, the color yellow just screams spring and perfect for a wedding. If you’re debating between another color and yellow, I’d definitely go the colorful route this time around. Another color that’s super trendy right now is lavender, so that’s a great choice as well. Back to the yellow dress, though. Not only is the color spot on, the floral design and ruffled sleeves are the perfect details. Can you ever really go wrong with florals and ruffles for spring? I don’t think so.

You can spice up your dress even more, no matter the style or color, with some eye-catching accessories like this fun, round straw bag (another HUGE trend) and some cute pumps or espadrilles wedges. Now you’re set with an amazing wedding look and dresses that will take you all the way through spring and into summer!

What to Wear to a Wedding:
I also love these maxi dresses for an evening or outdoor wedding:

I have a confession: I’m willing to splurge on cashmere. I love it. I feel like once you wear it, there’s no going back. You can just feel the luxury and you know that given the opportunity to buy it again, you will because it’s that good. My favorite way to wear it is as a shawl or wrap because you can get so much more use out of it and style it several different ways.

Have you heard of Kinross Cashmere? I’m already a huge fan of kimono’s and wraps, so when I found out they were super soft cashmere, it was a win-win. I really love the ruffle detail on this white cashmere wrap. My daughter has already threatened to steal it! That’s always a good indication I’m on to something good. My mom always wore wraps growing up, so I feel like I’m sharing my mother’s classic taste in fashion when donning a cashmere wrap of my own. How would you wear yours? It also looks great around your neck with jeans, a tee and boots, but the possibilities are endless!

Hope you have a lovely weekend! I’m in Dallas currently with Rewardstyle, but I can’t wait to get home to hubby and my babies tomorrow!

If there’s one trend I’m ridiculously excited about right now, it’s the denim skirt. Partly because it takes me back in time, but also because it’s denim, and you all know I’m pretty obsessed with denim of all kinds. Personally, I’m not sure why the denim skirt ever left the “trendy” scene to begin with, but the distressed look and raw hems here to stay, so I’m hoping the jean skirt is too!
My go-to look when styling a denim skirt is to keep is casual. This is something I love about skirts in general. You can easily dress them up with pumps or wedges and a cute, semi-dressy top, or you can dress them down with casual footwear (hello gorgeous Hunter boots!) and an easy tank and cardigan. You can clearly see which way I went with this outfit. It’s all about balancing it out. For example, if you do go in a dressier direction, the denim of the skirt keeps the look comfortable.
If you’ve been searching for the perfect denim skirt, I can tell you this one is amazing. It’s not distressed, but it does have the raw hem, which I love. It’s from [insert brand/store] and would make the perfect addition to your spring and summer wardrobe. And speaking of spring—if you don’t have yourself a pair of Hunter rain boots, you have to grab some ASAP. They’re a staple for me.
Once you have the jean skirt, the Hunter boots and this tank and cardigan, you’re well on your way to having the foundation of a great spring wardrobe.

Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own 🙂

I’ve a confession to make: call me lazy but lately I want to wear all the loose things. I want my tops to be roomy, my pants to feel like sweats, and my coffee hot. Is that too much to ask? I jest however, the struggle is real. There is hope my fellow comfort loving friends! Lately, I’m obsessed with peasant blouses unusual tops, and balloon sleeves you must check out for spring. I wouldn’t be a good friend if I didn’t share these with you! While I have other VERY exciting news to share in the forthcoming weeks, these amazing blouses are all below.  I have literally scrolled so many pages of tops, tunics and blouses, SO which are your favorite? Please comment if you know of any cute girls sizes, I’m on the hunt!

One thing I will not be hanging in my closet much this spring is a red blazer. I’m obsessed would be a little modest. Even my 10 year old sees me in it and says, mom you look good in red, lol! This red trend or blazer, the latter of which is SUPER flattering, is not going anywhere.

Next, we have ribbon jeans by McGuire I’m loving because they’re super flattering and distressed! I styled them with red wrap heels and a plain white tee every stylish girl needs a couple of these. Especially as a mom, I have So many white tees. Styling tip? Buy them in bulk!

Spring is in the air after a couple long weeks of rain here and it almost feels magical! I want to get a book and a snack and just soak up the sun! What better time to refresh your wardrobe than with a couple spring essentials from Nordstrom. I rounded up some of my favorite pieces from jeans to blouses to sandals and jewelry under $100. Planning ahead your spring wardrobe does not have to be complicated, just a couple pieces like a pair of dark denim, stripe blouse and white heels can refresh your look. I like that I can wear these sandals not only with jeans and trousers but looks great with a pencil skirt. Again this stripe top can be dressed up or down. Perfect for my meetings  DTLA and for my son’s soccer practice. Also don’t forget to try the Nordstrom curbside pick-up if you haven’t already. When I used this service, I felt totally spoiled not having to take all 4 children into Nordstrom and having the associate bring my bags into my car, amazing!!

Today I’m sharing some really simple summer staples to stock up now. I always love a white top (it looks great with jeans), a small bag, and nude sandals that never go out of style. Here’s I’m wearing flats which I’ll probably wear ever other day this summer. What are your faves?

Recently the hubby and I took to the skies for a quick trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico. It was a glorious four days of beautiful weather, a gorgeous hotel, and flat-out relaxing. As it truly was a romantic vacation (seriously, just google the place), I brought along some super fun outfits, but also a new scent. New scents always make everything feel different right? So for that date night glow, I tried Terre de Lumière, the newest scent from L’Occitane made with Bergamot, Ambrette seed, and subtle floral notes.  I’d definitely say it is a more sophisticated scent, rather than flirty or floral. I’m picky when it comes to fragrances; they can’t have too much floral and must have a healthy dose of musk. Well, this fit the bill. Honestly, I’ve always been a fan of L’Occitane. Throughout high school, I always used their shea butter hand creme after my dad and I would work in the garden and that scent always brings back so many good memories. So when L’Occitane asked me to try their newest scent, I gladly obliged. Try it for yourself. It’s the perfect blend of sophistication and casual date night. For me, it is now the smell of romance, the beach in Riviera Maya, and beautiful vacation memories. It really was the perfect addition to a perfect break.
