FRAME

It’s denim short season and I’m not mad about it. Who else is living in denim shorts?

FRAME: best overall. Great fit and distressing. I linked the exact on ebay since it is not available.

LEVI’s: Pro’s great color and distressing. Con’s: They run small, so size up.

AMERICAN EAGLE: Pro’s the low price and boyfriend fit! I went up a size and love the comfy fit, distressing. Con’s I was hard pressed to find one, but it sells out fast, so when its in stock, run!

JOES JEANS: Con’s: It is a little short for me at 5’9.” Pro’s Love the fit and lighter wash.

Have a great weekend, we’re having cocktails and hors d’oeuvres with friends. As always, my shop page is open 24/7.

I get some of the sweetest DM’s from you – my followers! I get some regarding family, diet, home and fashion. Here’s a sample below!

How do you take the walking pictures in the middle of the street?

We wait till the cars pass, it’s usually not too crazy on the weekends!

How do you make your energy balls?

I’ll admit I’m addicted and I don’t even freeze them anymore. I eat them raw not frozen. Blend in a cuisanart 1 cup whole oats and 3 T dark chocolate chunks. Add to that 1/2 cup honey, 2 t. cinnamon and 1/2 cup almond butter. Freeze for 30min if you have the will power. More than I do.

What is the brand of collagen you use?

Vital Proteins collagen powder. I’ve been almost using it for a year. It’s been so good for my hair and nails.

If you could get one Nuface device which would it be?

Oh that’s hard! The Mini and Trinity are my top 2. The mini is great for a smaller travel friendly option and trinity has the attachments to target specific areas like wrinkles with the red light and two prongs to target lip and laugh lines. Stay tuned for a friends and family sale!

Are Golden Goose sneakers ever on sale?

Yes! occasionally! See below.

I don’t wanna pay full price, any good designer sales?

Happy Weekend! I’m loving this sweater dress – especially the shoulder button details. Style tip, this dress can also be worn off the shoulder, yay!

  1. BELTED COAT – for its shape and color. Hello versatility!
  2. BUTTON FRONT SKIRT – love the asymmetrical design styled with booties
  3. HOUNDSTOOTH BLAZER hello fall must-have! Notice the modern piping detail for work to play chic.
  4. RUCHED SWEATER TBH this was the most interesting part of the collection. While I’m not usually a fan of baring the midriff, however, a peek of the mid section paired with chic high waisted trousers or a pencil skirt feels ever so fresh for fall.

Congrats to my fellow mama Chriselle for her new collection at Nordstrom!

This top is super flattering, fits true to size and great for girls who are not heavy on the chest like myself. Thankfully, this chic bodysuit gives me the shape I need and I like it paired with simple jeans with split hem detail. Speaking of, the hem features my pink flats so well and I can pair this with a cardigan when it gets chilly at night. The best part? The bodysuit on a budget is $38, and well worth a try if you’re a newcomer to the bodysuit arena.

While hubby can school me at a game of pool, any day, I’ll take my losses. Mickey and Minnie were on to something when they chose this playful print. Whenever I find anything polka dot for my girls, I snatch it up because there’s nothing cuter. It acts like a neutral and looks great paired with denim and white pants. Happy Tuesday!

Foodie Friday is back!! Like most things in life, something that started as a fun idea is now a full-blown ritual. As in, don’t even think about changing any thing up or bad things are going to happen. It’s pretty simple actually. After we drop off the kids at school, Brooks and I come back home and make smoothies. There it is. Quite honestly, I usually go through the mail and email while he begs and begs until I help him pull out all the ingredients. I literally put all the ingredients on the rug and then he sits there with the Vitamix and happily puts things in the mixer. I won’t say it’s all smooth sailing. Just today, while he was pulling out the spinach, he pulled out the glass jar of strawberry jam and it shattered. And mixers and children (well, adults too to be honest) don’t always go well together. So like I said, it’s not always smooth sailing, but it is worth it. He “cooks” his own food, and we both get yummy smoothies and fun memories.

Some of the Pros of cooking in the kitchen with your kids:

It’s fun! He’s learning and you’re both doing something fun together–it’s Quality Time!

You’re making memories

An opportunity to teach how to clean up

You get to stretch your patience muscle

Cons

Your patience muscle is getting stretched

Things will break, fall, and Legos are always involved. I don’t even know how, but it’s true

The mess (this almost deserves two bullet points, but I’ll leave it at one)

B’s Smoothie recipe

2 packets frozen acai bowl mix (we get ours from Costco)

1/2 cup – 3/4 cup  almond milk

1 T chia seeds
