I don’t know about you, but I usually shop for my husband. He gives me feedback on colors and such, but in general, since I’m the stylist, I I tell him what looks good on him. And he usually agrees! He occasionally disagrees like a couple things I got him for Christmas, but you win some you lose some. I’ve made note that he doesn’t like baggy clothes, argyle vests, he’s more edgy than preppy, and anything made of tan and yellow is a no-go. Now, that we have that cleared, here are his favorites! Do you know that I shop off these collages he makes? Last time he asked for a back pack (among many things), I ordered it from here and everyone was happy. Little surprise but good picks lend themselves to GREAT GIFTS. Which leads me to my last point, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great time to get your mom a cashmere wrap and your hubby some new threads! What will you get him?

More Scarves and Wraps on Anniversary Sale

Reid texted me from work to tell me he found the perfect concrete wall to shoot. I happened to pick up this CASHMERE WRAP at Nordstrom that day. Perfect I thought. We will ditch the legos all over the floor of the house (can you tell I’m annoyed?) and head over to the wall after dinner for that golden hour. Girls, find a guy who looks for walls for you on his way home, supports your dreams, and isn’t afraid to change diapers, etc, I digress.
About this wrap, I think every year I treat myself to a cashmere wrap at the Anniversary Sale. I’m sort of a wrap junkie. I love them belted crossed held and really I blame living in Paris for 3 months after college. The Parisians really know how to dress and how to wrestle a scarf into the chicest of knots. It’s an art. Here, I just belted it and called it a day. It’s incredibly soft, love the everyday classic two-tone gray, and size!

Just don’t forget it on the airplane!

The Outfit I Can’t Stop Wearing

I’ve been staying up way too late than I ought to and feeling all of 7 months pregnant! Because of our rigorous schedule of swim lessons ( yes, I signed them up for two sessions what was I thinking?!) and piano lessons (which requires me bugging them to practice)  and 20 snacks and 3 ish meals in between this mama is TIRED. I recently found this stretchy cotton dress under $60 with a tulip hem that makes me feel put together and this cardigan is only $41!

I love easy pieces that flatter without a lot of thought. How about you?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale can be overwhelming, so here’s a short guide to the women’s department! I can’t wait to wear some of these layers up at Lake Arrowhead and booties come fall. Which are your favorites?

Whether you are someone who just prefers the simple basics when it comes to choosing your outfits or you’re the girl all about the thrill and flair of a great accessory, I’ll have you covered throughout the mayhem that is the Nordstrom Sale Event. Because trust me when I say, there are tons of choices and lots of amazing options.

In fact, I just combed through what seemed like thousands of products at Nordstrom for their in-store early access event. I had a giant glass of water in my hand the entire time because of this crazy LA heat, but all I was thinking about was what’s inspiring me for fall and what might be worth investing in. I really tried to sift through things and choose only the best of the best because I totally get it—I’m a busy wife and mom, and really, most of us just don’t have the time to go through every piece of clothing, accessory and makeup that’s on sale. Especially in my situation because if I wait till October when baby #5 arrives, I definitely won’t have time to shop for my fall and winter wardrobe. So, believe me, if I took the time to go to the store in person, pre-order, and then post the item, it’ll be worth your time too—I promise!

After looking things over, I can safely say I’m loving suede, shearling and a great bootie. The latter is ALL about the cut. I was telling a friend of mine, when shopping for the best booties, I look for a cut that flatters the ankle, doesn’t cover it, and sometimes a V shape, etc. I can’t wait to show you the booties I ordered as well as the style I pre-ordered. In the meantime, here’s a heads up of what should be in YOUR CART before sizes sell out.

How to Shop the Season’s Hottest Sale

The annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts July 12, and I wanted to give you a heads up! It’s that time of the year, I get a sitter all day, shop what I like, share it all with you. Not to mention, it’s a great time to stock up on gifts for Christmas and birthdays. This year is a little different having the Arrowhead house to furnish and having a cute baby bump! I will be sure to look for items that work both for maternity and non-maternity as well as good home finds. I’m on the search for fluffy pillows, throws and candles for house guests. One of the things I LOVE about the sale is that it includes CURRENT ITEMS for fall so when the sale is over all the pieces go back to retail price August 6.

One of the overwhelming things about the sale is that there is a lot to comb through from beauty to basics to home accessories! That is why I am here to FILTER what I consider is worth your time and include when I post on the blog, Instagram and the Liketoknow.it app!
