I’m super picky when it comes to my headbands. Number one, they have to be versatile, so I can mix and match many outfits accordingly. Isn’t it pretty? I especially love the pink flowers against the light blue background. What do you think?
Do you ever drive past a place, see lots of activity but have no clue what all the hustle is? Reid and I needed a quick overnight getaway and parenting break. We decided to drive down to one of our favorite beaches in Florida. This was a last-minute trip and Reid booked the day before we left. We thought we would just get a typical hotel chain since it was so last minute. Reid did a search all over Florida’s 30A and thankfully discovered this quaint vintage Bed and Breakfast in Grayton Beach, Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse.

We arrived at 5:00pm and the check-in process was super simple. They had texted Reid’s phone with arrival instructions, and everything was waiting for us. Our room was the Funky Bird Room, located on the first floor of Bert’s Barn. The grounds are lush with Florida plants and a big front porch. Upon entering the old-fashioned room, you are entertained with vintage bird art sprinkled into the décor. It’s not fancy, but feels hip and very Anthropologie. Just my thing. The room included a small kitchen with full size sink, mini-fridge and microwave. Just what we need for a one night stay and no kids.
It was fun staying the night and feeling like we were going back in time, but the best part was waking up to the Florida sun and heading over to the café for breakfast. Yes! This place still give you breakfast, for free! It is not pre-packaged danishes either. Reid and I each had fresh old fashioned oatmeal topped with fresh fruit while I had homemade granola and milk. Might I add, the coffee was one of the best on 30A.
As a small business owner myself, I encourage you to check out this quaint, family owned guesthouse. It was a great retreat. Great, walkable location and most importantly, great coffee!

How was your Memorial Day? We were invited to a BBQ yesterday for Memorial Day and she asked me to bring a side dish.
I love a challenge.
I was craving a greek salad with a twist. I left out any meat since we were attending a bbq with lots of yummy grilled meat. The feta has protein and a delicious kick. Let me know what you think!
1 16 oz package orzo pasta, (I use the one from trader joe’s) cooked and put aside
1 package cherry tomatoes
1 can, black olives
1 package of feta cheese
1 whole bunch of Dill, chopped
1/3 cup red onion, sliced thinly
Drizzle with 1/4 cup avocado or olive oil and 1 teaspoon sea salt
Directions: Cut the tomatoes, onions, dill, and feta. Finally, drizzle with oil and salt. Toss and serve.

Reid’s mom is here for a couple weeks so I’m looking forward to long talks, walks, and yard work together. We enjoy doing some of the same things together and I’m thankful for that! Family night can get complicated beyond what to flavor the popcorn with. Can you relate? I asked you — my readers what are your favorite family friendly films and BOOM, I got great responses. Obviously, use parental caution and common sense as you know what your kids can handle in terms of movies and adults themes like funerals and death like we saw last night when we watched Fried Green Tomatoes. Reid and I have enjoyed making family night special with popcorn and nacho seasoning. I included the recipe below.

For family night:
This Nacho Cheese Seasoning is perfect for popcorn, chips, and french fries! Or anything you want to sprinkle it on. It’s also vegan because I used nutritional yeast to give it a cheesy flavor.
½ tablespoon nutritional yeast
1 ½ teaspoon of chili pepper powder (use more if you like it extra spicy)
1 teaspoon of onion powder
½ teaspoon of cumin powder
½ teaspoon of sea salt
½ teaspoon of smoked paprika
Mix together, add on top of popcorn and drizzle with avocado oil.
Enjoy!
