I fell in love with this print and styled it with white jeans (I buy in bulk) and lace up flats (I can still run errands with kids in them). A comfy long cardigan and hat elevated the look. Happy Monday!

What’s easier on the weekend than a racer back cotton dress and sneakers? I love it also paired with pointy heels and a blazer. It’s a long to-do list as it’s my last weekend in LA, before we head to Chicago. So, easy dresses and sneakers it is. And did I mention this dress is only $59? I can’t wait for tonight’s Cinco de Mayo party than packing. Happy weekend!

What are you up to this weekend? We’re packing up the car and heading to our friends Cinco de Mayo party. I see a sun packed day of guac and Corona. Can’t wait. Meanwhile, I’m sharing a couple places we love going to in LA:

Ostrich farm – homemade cinnamon rolls, chic salads, avocado toast, kid friendly, small but chic space. Don’t forget to go early on the weekend.

1525 Sunset Blvd, LA

Scoops – we get requests from the kids to go here weekly as well as their birthdays – at $2.50 a kids scoop, its a hidden LA gem. Not hidden for long.

5105 York Blvd, LA

Paradise Bowls – So yummy we got the smoothies and yummy pitaya bowls. Don’t be surprised if there’s a wait.

Happy Humpday! I thought I’d share answers to some of my most asked questions:

How do I sign up for the emails for your Liketoknowit instagrams?

Go to Liketoknowit.com and sign up with your email – it takes a couple minutes and you can shop my outfit links from your email. So cool.

What sunglasses are you always wearing?

These are by Sunday Somewhere – I switch it up with my Quay which I also love.

What jeans and sandals were you wearing in yesterday’s boomerang?

sweater here (its on sale!),  jeans are by AG ex boyfriend slim, sandals are old Joie, I linked similar here.

What is your number one advice to someone starting out your blog or Instagram?

Be consistent. Find what works – study what your audience is responding to most and do more of that. There will be down days and up weeks, you just have to keep going. There are days I’m so tired the night before, but deadlines are real, even in a job that I love. The best part is its doing something I love so it never feels like a chore.

How did you grow your Instagram account?

Some big companies and accounts reposted me. It’s a great way to grow organically, which is the best way to grow.

What are you doing in Chicago next week?

I’ll be hosting an event with Tiffany & Co. May 3, email us if you want more info! mgmt@shalicenoel.com or rsvp to Tiffany@skoogproductions.com.

Hope that answered a couple of your questions, if I didn’t, what is your question?

Today I’m sharing some really simple summer staples to stock up now. I always love a white top (it looks great with jeans), a small bag, and nude sandals that never go out of style. Here’s I’m wearing flats which I’ll probably wear ever other day this summer. What are your faves?

Recently the hubby and I took to the skies for a quick trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico. It was a glorious four days of beautiful weather, a gorgeous hotel, and flat-out relaxing. As it truly was a romantic vacation (seriously, just google the place), I brought along some super fun outfits, but also a new scent. New scents always make everything feel different right? So for that date night glow, I tried Terre de Lumière, the newest scent from L’Occitane made with Bergamot, Ambrette seed, and subtle floral notes.  I’d definitely say it is a more sophisticated scent, rather than flirty or floral. I’m picky when it comes to fragrances; they can’t have too much floral and must have a healthy dose of musk. Well, this fit the bill. Honestly, I’ve always been a fan of L’Occitane. Throughout high school, I always used their shea butter hand creme after my dad and I would work in the garden and that scent always brings back so many good memories. So when L’Occitane asked me to try their newest scent, I gladly obliged. Try it for yourself. It’s the perfect blend of sophistication and casual date night. For me, it is now the smell of romance, the beach in Riviera Maya, and beautiful vacation memories. It really was the perfect addition to a perfect break.

After we moved, our room was the last to get some decorating love. It was the room I dumped everything in, and it swiftly became the least most relaxing room in the house. Enter some new (cheap, so stock up!) white sheets , fresh linen duvet, new pillows, an amazingly soft faux fur throw, vintage bedside tables (hubby refinished) and our vintage Los Angeles sign we brought from the downstairs living room. Violà, a bedroom with more character, simple design upgrades and an incredibly soft bed.

So if you’re a weekend warrior, or comfort queen, here are 3 under $100 bedroom must-haves to make any weekend a holiday weekend (not including Netflix or Nutella).

I’m always on the lookout for great basics for less, and Express is killing it in the basics department. I’m not only a proud owner of this awesome stripe button up, but I also found some classic ripped jeans and gray frayed jeans as well. But I think the big find of the night was their jersey pant. Folks, write this down. They have the cozy feel of yoga pants but manage to look board meeting ready with flats or heels. I paired it with a simple black tank (it’s been hot here) and flats. I like that it’s a functional outfit that goes well with a blazer (for dressier occasions), or jean jacket for (the farmers market), or yes, just a tank for running errands in hot weather. Viola, ready in minutes and an outfit under $100.  Also follow me on Pinterest to see more favorites from Express.

Date night dinner plans ended up teriyaki chicken bowls a là costco. Gourmet I am not. At least I was before we had kids when I had a couple appetizer tricks up my sleeve. Alas, homemade cook, fail, but I’m winning in the shoe department. Happy Humpday!
