Wearing red seems a little cliche right now, but I’m loving this new to me shade of red. This shirt dress also comes in a maxi long version but I opted for a shorter version to pair them with tall boots. Have you tried a shirt dress? They’re incredibly flattering for many different body types.

Misa Los Angeles Red dress size xs but I probably could do a small. // Mary Jane flats size 1/2 size up! // Belt size 80 shown // Bag by Cafune // Celine Sunglasses Similar // Rings LAGOS // // Earrings – only $15! // necklace TINYTAGS with all 5 of my children’s names on it!

It’s holiday gift guide time already, can you believe? I recently asked my older 4 children what they’d like for Christmas. Can you imagine how excited they were to do this? Let’s just say, it’s NOT a chore.

They compiled their favorites (girls especially) from satin pillowcases to Nike blazers. Which is your favorite?

Holiday dress idea

dress in size small (fit is tts) // bag // sandals //

Love this moroccan blue with gold dress for holiday events. I wore it when we were in Watercolor, FL, and it was so flowy and flattering. Are you invited to a holiday event? This one is perfect. Add a belt, or use the ribbon belt.

Happy November!

Boxy Pullover // Silk Midi Skirt // Sparkly Sandals // Tan Towels

I’m not crazy about ugly sweaters, or overly glittery tops or bodycon dresses. The latter especially doesn’t work while nursing. So, when I saw this combination at my local Nordstrom, I jumped on it. I love the combination of a knit sweater (with slight metallic thread) and a satin skirt in the same green color scheme. ‘Tis the season right? I’ll admit it’s a color I don’t wear often but love it in this shade! Speaking of shades, since most of the world does not have sun tanning weather like SoCal, I’ve got you covered. I live by these tan towels when I need a quick “real” looking tan for a night out or special event. Hey, even hubby uses them but don’t tell him I told you. Now, back to traveling to Chicago to see the family, show off Levi and my fake tan. What’s your favorite holiday look?

Happy Monday!

It’s ironic that I hate cold weather but I love buying new coats for the family each year. I love seeing my kids all bundled up in layers. Perfect for cozy long weekends at our A-Frame up in the mountains.

Wearing our new winter coats, we decided to string popcorn and cranberries for a cute/ugly little pine tree we found next to our mountain A-Frame. The kids had a blast decorating the tree we found. Thank goodness for battery operated LED lights. They gave this sad little tree a little sparkle. After some popcorn fights, we moved up the hill and the kids built a pretend campfire as they ate candy canes and talked about what they want for Christmas. The air smelled of pine trees and was refreshingly crisp.

As we plan on spending lots of days in the snowy mountains this winter, I’m lining up key must-have winter basics your kids will actually wear. No fights, right!?

I’ve learned a few things on what to look for when selecting kids outerwear.

1)     Purchase coats that aren’t too bulky or stiff. If the kids aren’t comfortable moving in it, they won’t wear it.

2)    Look for coats that have attached hoods. No more losing hats!

3)    The coat needs to be easily cleaned and machine washable.

I found our coats at Abercrombie Kids. Their outerwear kid’s collection is on point and as a stylist, I approve. I’m especially fond of the Essential Puffer Line and the shiny color options, which the kids loved and I know the material will clean up nicely after they’ve played outside.

The girls are wearing the Essential Puffer Coat and the Adventure Parka. The girls’ coats have faux fur hoods and the color/pattern selection will please any kid. My youngest girl chose the shiny navy blue stripe and my oldest, outdoorsy, daughter chose the cute green camo with pink faux fur lining.

For the boys, the Essential Puffer Coat keeps their movement unrestricted while they play. The sherpa-lined hood is so cute and cozy too.

I layered the kids with plaid button-down shirts, zippered sweaters, sweatshirts and ripped denim jeans with patches. When the temps drop lower, my daughter will wear tights with her black denim skirt. I love how their outerwear all pulled together nicely. We are ready for a real mountainside campfire and some s’mores. Happy wintering!

I have such a soft spot for tweed and all things red. I mean, pardon the fact that I’m wearing a red baker boy hat on repeat on Instagram. However, tis the season right? This red coat and gold buttons is a total beauty. I love it dressed up and down and a total statement! My in-laws will be here over Christmas and I can’t wait to bust this out with black jeans, a sweater and sneakers.

I just love this tweed off the center skirt too. I had to adjust the belt since I bought it too big, my bad, but I still love it! What are you wearing for the holidays?

We land today in Colorado and I cannot wait. The kids are super excited to attend ski school and I feel all the weight of packing all 6 of us for a big ski trip. Insert tired mama! I am, however SO grateful we can do this and even more excited to share our experience with you! Meanwhile, there are some sales going around the web this weekend. Look below for some great gift-giving ideas that I know I am going to take advantage of for my family in the Midwest and friends. The sweater I’m wearing here is sold out but I linked similar and my boots are 30% off, which seldom happens. Take advantage of this time to gift to others on your list as well as pick up a couple new threads for yourself. I’ve done the same but also been donating to the Salvation Army and slowly selling on Poshmark. It feels good to make space by cleaning out! That said, are you done with your shopping? There’s nothing like a checked coat to spice up my all black uniform. Read, desperate attempt to get out of my all black rut. Thankfully, its been chilly enough here in LA to actually layer. See this post on how I styled a leopard coat. I’m excited my family from the Midwest comes in today. Let the holidays begin! As always, my shop page is open 24/7 and updated daily. Thanks for all your support!
