Summer fashion

I thought it would be fun to share with you girls my minimalist summer wardrobe. You know that I love my neutrals, and elevated accessories. Here I styled the Pintail sandals four ways. I know that I’ll personally be wearing these four outfits on repeat. Which is your favorite?

I have a soft spot for crisp white jeans for summer. I love the crop on these and slight distressing but no holes – yet! As far as fit, these run a tad bit small, and you should size up. Use code NOELXAVE for 20% off anything at The Avenue. Happy Shopping!

I don’t know about you but all this time at home has me a little short on inspiration. But white jeans are always a good idea, especially with summer at our doorstep, right? There is nothing like going back to the basics!

I met Sydne at an event in West Hollywood a couple years ago. I can’t even remember the one single event, but she was warm, easy to talk to and loved style! She and I quickly had a lot to talk about from her new condo renovation, to her pup, and working full time as a style blogger. One thing I love about Sydne is that she is so organized! As someone who definitely struggles in that department, it was inspiring to hear her ideas. Definitely check out her IGTV and blog! She posts weekly style videos, has a beautiful condo and came up with the brilliant idea of collaborating on a blog post about styling white jeans.

White Jeans 3 Ways

Wide leg jeans (wearing a 26) // similar scarf (missoni) 60% off // white tee (exact) // straw hat

With July 4th around the corner (summer goes so fast!), we both styled one patriotic look and two looks specific to our styles.

Go check out Sydne’s blog and IGTV to see how she styled white jeans 3 ways!

My parents are in town, so my mom and I plan on making some yummy hamburgers from scratch for the grill (that we still need to buy) lemonades on the patio, and curb side coffee. What are your plans? xx Shalice

I’ve gotten SO many compliments about these sandals for thirteen dollars! I’ve worn them everywhere from the Huntington gardens to Sea World. A mom needs a lightweight go-to sandal and I couldn’t resist the cute pink color. I liked them so much so that I purchased a pair for my daughter. They also come in size 5, and I love twinning with her!

Walmart has some great buys. I’m also crushing on their leopard selection! Remember, if your order is over $35, and is a qualified order, you’ll receive free two-day shipping, no membership required. See more options below!

Also, some favorite beauty buys like this mascara and lip gloss:

We are in the heat of the soccer camp season and the kids are loving it. While I’m not enjoying the commute, I tell myself these seasons are going very fast. I’m grateful for each moment! How’s your week going?

Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post!

I love sweats, don’t get me wrong,  I even wore them traveling yesterday, but I think we all would agree, it’s difficult to feel glamorous in them. Curious? Read on:

4 Ways to Look Polished in Sweats:

FLESH COLOR ELONGATES. Make sure its nude – flesh colored sandals elongate the leg, especially heels. I also like these stripe sandals with an all white look.

MAKE A POINT. If you’re a flats girl and can’t wear heels like my sister, opt for flats with a point. They will be a lot more flattering.

DON’T GO BAGGY ON TOP. I love these palazzo pants with a slim tank or tee but if I wore a large boxy top, I’d loose my shape. Opt for slim on top for an overall flattering look.

KNOT BAD. Even after I wore this tank to go to coffee with the hubs I decided midday to knot the top. It gave an additional interest and slimming affect – and I liked it better than just a plain tuck. Try it!

5 Tanks and Tees:

Comment with your questions, how do you like to chicly wear sweats? I’m all ears.

One of my faithful readers asked me to write a blog post on what to wear to a wedding. She had no idea what to wear to the multiple weddings she was planning to attend this summer, so I accepted the challenge. First off, not all weddings are created equal. The bride and groom can opt for anything from high-end evening city wedding to a backyard barbecue. And everything in between. Have no fear, I covered the basics for you to arrive appropriately chic. Here’s hoping you don’t steal the show.

BLACK TIE :: Bust out your maxi dress. Long and elegant is the name of the game. I like this one.

BACKYARD I would wear this dress from today’s blog post for this occasion. Try something fun: sheer (like this option), a bow, a stripe, and just have fun with it.

CITY Don’t be afraid to again go long and chic, streamline and lacey. Like this lace and sequin midi dress. Or this under $50 LBD that goes brilliantly with nude heels and faux fur.

CONSERVATIVE — opt for floral or a navy dress and midi length.

DESTINATION Let loose a little in an off-the-shoulder floral dress, floral midi, gingham, and ruffle off the shoulder knee length

2016_07_07_ShaliceNoel7-114-Edit 2016_07_07_ShaliceNoel7-109-EditGracias and thank you for ALL of your comments and entries. It made me think that I should do more giveaways! And I wish I had a gift card for each of you! I realized I have A LOT of mom’s that follow the blog, am I right? So, if I told you I’m honestly still tired from Monday’s doctor appointment with all four kids you would believe me. And actually, the kids have it harder because the recovery from shots and blood work is tough on 5, 6, and 8 year olds. They’ve been watching lots of movies and thanks to some Children’s Tylenol, have perked up! I’m usually a fast moving get-lots-of-things-done-in-a-little-time-person and I’m learning to SLOW DOWN and even sit on the couch with them, ask them what is their favorite thing to do with mommy? Ask your kids that, especially if you have multiple children. Mine said “Go on a date” so we will do just that, even if it is to Ralph’s for a couple packs of gum to make memories, foster relationships and an effort to freeze these fleeting moments.

And with that . . .

the winner is . . . . Maridel Soriente Dubb please email shalice@shalicenoel.com to claim your gift card. Enjoy!!

The fastest way to change up your work wear is to add a couple twists to the classic look, aka your wear-to-work rut. Sound familiar? I too am guilty of finding a favorite that seems to work, like those same black wide-leg pants, and sticking with it over and over because a) it works and b) I’m too busy to change it up.

However, realization is the first step to changing. I personally am a fan of the classic look; you can never go wrong with well made trousers, right? But to add a little twist, what about knots and a pop of chartreuse? Instead of a white button down, consider it knotted, or instead of the standard black or brown pump, consider chartreuse. If you aren’t yet convinced, all three pieces are under $250 and can be worn multiple time with jeans and shorts! For more outfit inspiration, check out their 10 pieces, 10 outfits.
