I’m the girl who is always wanting that piece no other girl has. Whether it’s a discontinued item like a vintage thick belt, embossed Chanel bag or Isabel Marant tee that you can’t find anywhere, I usually find on eBay. And that is just one of the reasons I’ve been shopping on eBay for over 10 years.

Here, I’m wearing Isabel Marant boots I’ve searched for on and off for years. I found them at my price point and in great condition. I paired them with a Gucci belt (also can be scored on eBay), denim skirt (found on eBay), stripe top, blazer and a red lip for a little French girl chic vibe. What is on your eBay search list?

Also, don’t forget to check the daily deals, which can usually be seen on the home page. I usually check the daily deals for random specials for the whole family – even good Christmas gifts! Today was a men’s scarf under $10! You really just never know what you’ll find. I guess that’s why I love it! Afterall, 85% of all clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry and beauty products on eBay are brand-new!

Airport Style

by Shalice Noel
1. Tee
3. Cardigan (this cardi is like a hug)

4. Summer Fridays Mask

5. Joggers (I wore a small)

Whether you’re heading East or West Home, or staying in, you won’t be able to pass up these tried and true basics that work for airport style or pancake duty. I used these sunglasses while we were traveling since they actually stayed on my head during airport security with 7 people! I also love this face spray that comes in a travel friendly size to lock in the moisture. To fight dehydration, using a maskduring the flight is a must. As for luggage, we had the boys share a carryon bag from AWAY and the girls shared a carryon AWAY bag. This eliminated too many bags and avoided silly bag fees. More gift guides to prepare you for the holidays and forthcoming info on our family in Kauai. Stay tuned!

I remember when we were pregnant with our first and we were living in this tiny 1-bedroom basement apartment in Bucktown (Chicago). Reid and I were panicking because we always assumed we’d have a house by the time we had our first baby. Well, we ended up having our first within 2 weeks of our first anniversary and understandably we were a bit overwhelmed.

Someone released the pressure and convinced us not to worry. They said something like, babies are tiny and they hardly take up any space!  Such simple, beautiful advice. This was coming from a mother of 5 kids at the time (now they have 7!). She went on to say you don’t need much for a baby and that they even used a laundry basket as a bassinet when they were first starting out. While I won’t recommend that, we did feel reassured knowing you really don’t need a lot of baby gadgets for your newborn. It’s all about versatility.

Now that we are on our fifth child, we discovered a safe and versatile product for our newborn that we wished we had with our first – the Dockatot. The Dockatot is essentially a place to dock your baby. OK, that may sound weird but it’s actually super cute. The small pad with side bumpers secures the baby on their back while they sleep or play. When I’m not carrying Levi he is lounging in his Dockatot. We have the Dockatot on the floor during the day while I’m working at the dining room table. It also fits in his Moses basket as well as his bassinet. How cool is that? So we place it wherever we need it, wherever we are in the house. You can even use it in your bed if you prefer co-sleeping.

What I love most is that it involves no batteries. I’m seeing so many baby products out there that move, shake, swing, sing, bounce…you know where I’m going with this. My gut feels like all these electronics around my baby are just not right. Do you have any thoughts on this? I’d love to hear your opinion. Let me know any questions you have in the comments below.
A couple notes:
The Dockatot’s come in stages for different ages. Levi is almost one month old, so he is using Stage 1. Later we will use Stage 2 for ages 9 to 36 months. Something you’re probably wandering is, if its machine washable – YES!  it is in fact machine washable. We just washed ours yesterday and made me love this thing all over again. What’s your mommy must have? I’d love to hear!!

Levi is only a week here so you can bet I am gravitating towards classic pieces that are still flattering in this postpartum phrase. I love that Nordstrom carries some awesome basics like this $12 black tank I have in white as well.  Style tip, when you find something good, you buy in bulk! Speaking of good, this hat is great for bad hair days, chic combat boots, and we can’t forget flattering jeans all shown here. All of which I find at Nordstrom at competitive prices (they price match!) mom-friendly perks (hello curbside pick-up) and Nordy Club, so I can still earn points for every purchase. And these are just some of the advantages of shopping at Nordstrom. Have you used those perks at Nordstrom? What are you buying this month at Nordstrom?

Hello everyone!

If you get my newsletter, you may have already seen this, but it’s obvious I’m loving all things winter right now. From ordering faux garland to getting Levi a new stocking, to rocking to Mariah Caray’s All I want from Christmas, I guess you could say I’m in the Spirit.

Wow, how is October over already?! Per usual time is flying and I can’t believe it. Our little guy is growing so fast and we’re all so excited to celebrate our first holiday season with him.

And speaking of the holidays, winter is basically here and it’s time to share what I have to have to make it through the season. Here are my 9 winter staples:

1. What’s winter without a super cozy blanket?

2. Fall is all about a good turtleneck Sweater. And this one is under $60.

3. I cannot recommend a silk pillowcase enough. It’s so good for your skin and hair.
4. A quality facial oil like this one from L’Occitane helps keep your skin extra moisturized.
5. These tan towelettes are miracle workers when it comes to helping you look tan sans the dangerous rays.
6. Even when it’s not winter, taking a hair and nail supplement can never hurt.
7. Depuff any inflammation from all that cozy winter and holiday food with this amazing ice roller that has changed the skin game for me.
8. $19 leggings are easy on the wallet and equally forgiving.
9. My skin is softer than your skin BODY SCRUB.

jeans // camel coat similar // cold shoulder top similar and this one for $42!// belt bag // earrings // cowboy boots

No one loves one shoulder tops more than I do.  I rounded up a couple faves as well as these jeans which have been a favorite post-partum. They’re super flattering. I happened to be between sizes so I went up a size and added a belly band. What do you think? It’s been a sleepy couple of weeks with lots of helpers, thankfully! with a couple flattering basics, I can still look my best without overthinking it. Shop my jeans, top, camel coat, earrings, bag and boots below. Happy Tuesday!

Obsessing over the @FountainofTruthBeauty The Truth Insa-Face Lift Elixir from founder @giulianarancic, a lightweight treatment to help reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.  It includes the Super Bio-Ferment Complex (included in all Fountain of Truth products) to help achieve softer, smoother more luminous skin.  Shortly after giving birth to Levi, everyone was asking what I was using on my face for that glow. After using it for only a few days, I have noticed my skin feels tighter already. And did I mention, I love the smell!

Some of the clinical testing results that I felt were worth mentioning:  *97% of participants showed improvement in the appearance of crow’s feet fine lines and wrinkles after 24 hours  and 100% of participants showed improvement after 6 weeks.

The way I use it – after washing my face morning and night I apply about 1-2 pumps to face and neck area.  Simple as that!  And now you can try it too by using my personal code FOTLUVSHALICE for 20% off at fountainoftruthbeauty.com!

Happy Friday!

Last weekend, L’Occitane hosted a beautiful southern France inspired brunch here in LA. If you remember, I posted about the L’Occitruck arriving in LA, well this was their kick off brunch with LA influencers like myself. While I wasn’t able to attend personally since just giving birth to Levi, I sent Liz who captured the event here for you to see!

The smell of lavender was in the air, samples of tried of true customer favorites like Shea Butter Lotion was out to sample, and every color of macaroon available for your delight. It was indeed a lovely spread fit with a blue and yellow flower wall to kick it off. How enchanting!

Lavender Lemonade Mimosa from Food and Wine
Fill a pitcher two-thirds full with ice. Add the lemon juice and Lavender Tea Syrup. Stir briskly for 30 seconds to chill, then strain into 8 chilled flutes. Top each drink with 4 ounces of Prosecco. Garnish with sprigs of lavender.
