Since we’ve been too tired (READ EXHAUSTED) for date night, we planned date morning. So brilliant. We came back re-energized to tackle the hot chocolate mix spilled in the girls closet, the missing gum we got from Costco the other night, and the fights that broke out after the before mentioned missing gum. Hence the day date. What better way to celebrate you and your man getting away for avocado salad and killer oatmeal cookies than in lace, flats and a soft denim jacket? I’m already planning next Saturday’s day date, and maybe squeezing in a little work if the hubs is up to it. Hope you had a lovely weekend!

I’ll be honest, life has been a little nutty lately. Between homework, new places, new itineraries, tons of traffic and just today I dropped my phone in the water. Cue the tears. I need easy basics. Hence the oversize knit, cutoffs, and comfy wedges. All of the above works with my on-the-go lifestyle. Now, let me get back to my bag of rice and a prayer my phone is back to normal.

Summer Shoes

My sister asked me recently what pairs of shoes she needs for Spring? While I could easily chose at least 10, I narrowed it down to just 5 of my go-to pairs below.

  1. CONVERSE I wear chucks up and down. Laid back chic at it’s best. Get them in every color.

2. Espadrille from ASOS (I also love these platforms!) So cute and casual.

3. Platform from FARYLROBIN

4. Black sandal by VINCE

5. A slinky red sandal is a must have – and this one by STEVE MADDEN is no exception. It’s almost embarrassing how much I wear these, but nothing beats that pop of red.

Versatility is key.

IMG_7921IMG_7745 IMG_7746One of my favorite ways to transition from winter to spring is a camel coat! I love how flattering it is with most colors. Here, I paired it with an oversize lace top from Veronica Beard and white tennis skirt. For my northern readers, a great pair of white jeans could replace the skirt. Perfect for upcoming bridal showers or brunching. Speaking of, there are so many places I want to try for brunch here in LA. Send over any recommendations. happy weekend!

I think it’s safe to say that LA winter is officially over. These past couple days have been more like spring, messing us up like crazy. My kids keep asking if we can go to the pool. So, if you’re curious, this blush trench is pretty amazing and adapts to both spring and summer. It even manages winter, if you have the luck of living in California. So, it’s also probably safe to say that you’ll be seeing it again.

V Day His1.This Buck Mason white t-shirt is that perfect tee for the classic T-Shirt and jean look.

2. My Reid likes Billy Reid’s taste in sweaters. And I may have to steal, <cough> I mean borrow it.

3. These skinny jogging pants are perfect for hanging around the house Saturday morning or heading to the gym. Or both.

4. Loungewear is having a major comeback, and maybe that’s because there’s something sexy about a guy in a grey robe. So, he deserves a robe of his own. Plus, this robe is not your grandfather’s, thanks to this modern hoody.

5. Anything having to do with coffee is an instant score, like this Intelligentsia Solo Brewer. Just don’t sabotage the gift with instant coffee.

6. Just a little flare for my guy J.  Love this leather bracelet. Just make sure he sticks to one piece of flare per wrist, don’t go too crazy.
