Spring is in the air and so is the pollen, so my allergies have been crazy! On a positive note, I’m loving these kitten bow heels, flares, and peasant top. All of which are versatile for spring and I’m loving each piece.

How to Elongate your Legs

Wanna know a trick of the trade? I’ve been a stylist for years and use this one trick when I get dressed. Here I wore stunning red pants from alice + olivia and I paired them with pointy red boots from agl.

Here’s my go-to style trick:

Wear the shoes the color of your pants for that elongated look. I get countless compliments on my pants when my shoes match my pants.  It tricks the eye into thinking the legs are longer than they really are. Did I get your attention? This works for an all camel look, monochrome white look, and if wearing jeans, style them with nude sandals or heels. It’s all about knowing simple tricks to look and feel your best.

    Little Red Dress x Datenight

    Few colors excite me more than red. Its such a bright and happy color that can wake up a tired color palette. I usually add a pop of red to an outfit, here I was attempting to do red head to toe, but my red bag happened to be a different red. Tones aside, I loved pairing a red dress with red flats and a circle bag, because date night should be about bold colors and the man you love. Oh and a good Thai food destination, that’s why I included 4 Thai food destinations in the LA area below:

    Sala Dang 363 S Fair Oaks, Pasadena, yummy yellow curry and great menu. We love taking friends from out of town here.

    Thai Purple 27 W Garfield, Alhambra, Yummy curry and rice, I get the red curry, hubby gets the yellow.

    I rarely say no to fringe, and this skirt is no exception. I thrifted a black version of this skirt and it’s still a favorite. Gotta love the texture and movement! I like it dressed up with a white or black blouse or dressed down with a denim shirt. I’m sure my 5 year old will be wanting this fringe skirt come Saturday when I get home. Until then, I’m squeezing in as many coffee shops and oceans views in LA as possible despite the insane traffic on the 405. Happy Thursday!

    I’m a huge fan of occasion dressing but it can be a little intimidating. But now, whether it is a client dinner, drinks with the girls or Friday night date night, I have the dress for you. Er, jumpsuit. Let’s be honest, I’m usually not ahead on anything holiday, but the team at Eliza J keeps hitting it out of the park. I’m obsessed with this romantic skirt, and I’m a jeans girl! Go figure. I find Eliza J dresses to have just enough embellishment to stand out, a great classic fit (though it runs a tad large), and stunning colors.     Our date had a bit of a rough start. First, I failed to feed the street meter and I got slapped with a parking ticket. Then the hubs sliced into a parked Hyundai, and by the time that was all said and done, we were late. Not the best way to kick-off the much anticipated date. Thankfully, a melon and lemon verbena shot was right around the corner, and there is very little that can’t remedy, right? Soon we parked ourselves at C Chicago, and settled in for a luxurious brunch. I think they saw the writing on the wall because I got that shooter right off the bat. The bright and sunny restaurant, and the delectable four courses, healed all wounds. Parking ticket? What parking ticket? We felt spoiled, which is pretty much how every date should be. While we kicked ourselves for not bringing the kids, they would’ve been all over the lemon ricotta pancakes, it was nice to hear ourselves talk, walk in my comfy Rockports, and eat at a normal pace. And yes, we licked the key lime pie plate clean and didn’t even have to share. It was definitely a day date to remember. We’ll be back for the egg white omelette AND the lemon verbena shooter.

    1. C CHICAGO Brunch for sea foodies and foodies alike. Get there at 11am for their yummy egg white omelette, lobster scramble and key lime pie in the shape of an apple.
    2. ANTIQUE TACO – Everything on the menu. I’m craving the pork taco as I type.
    3. The GAGE The regular burger, chips (fries) and amazing ambience on Michigan Ave.
    4. REVOLUTION BREWERY A neighborhood brewery. Cozy ambience with awesome burgers.
    5. CINDYS ROOFTOP AMAZING Michigan Avenue views and yes, the food is yum.

    {shop} Four Faux Fur

    The silver lining to dipping temps? Why faux fur of course. I can’t get enough of them worn over jeans or dresses. Here’s my top four that I’ll be reaching for come forty-nine degrees, that is, besides a venti hot chocolate with extra whip. What are some of your faves?

    Anthropologie and Peter Som joined forces for an eclectic mix of happy florals and unexpected lines. A perfect collab. I love that I can wear this stripe sweater with jeans for taco night, or wrapped around a maxi dress. See more of the Anthropologie X Peter Som capsule collection online. Meanwhile, my mother-in-law is coming to visit tomorrow and I cannot wait! She folds clothes like no one I know and loves chocolate just as much as I do. I’ll have plenty of excuses to break out either of these outfits again next weekend.
