Whether you are someone who just prefers the simple basics when it comes to choosing your outfits or you’re the girl all about the thrill and flair of a great accessory, I’ll have you covered throughout the mayhem that is the Nordstrom Sale Event. Because trust me when I say, there are tons of choices and lots of amazing options.
In fact, I just combed through what seemed like thousands of products at Nordstrom for their in-store early access event. I had a giant glass of water in my hand the entire time because of this crazy LA heat, but all I was thinking about was what’s inspiring me for fall and what might be worth investing in. I really tried to sift through things and choose only the best of the best because I totally get it—I’m a busy wife and mom, and really, most of us just don’t have the time to go through every piece of clothing, accessory and makeup that’s on sale. Especially in my situation because if I wait till October when baby #5 arrives, I definitely won’t have time to shop for my fall and winter wardrobe. So, believe me, if I took the time to go to the store in person, pre-order, and then post the item, it’ll be worth your time too—I promise!
After looking things over, I can safely say I’m loving suede, shearling and a great bootie. The latter is ALL about the cut. I was telling a friend of mine, when shopping for the best booties, I look for a cut that flatters the ankle, doesn’t cover it, and sometimes a V shape, etc. I can’t wait to show you the booties I ordered as well as the style I pre-ordered. In the meantime, here’s a heads up of what should be in YOUR CART before sizes sell out.

The annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts July 12, and I wanted to give you a heads up! It’s that time of the year, I get a sitter all day, shop what I like, share it all with you. Not to mention, it’s a great time to stock up on gifts for Christmas and birthdays. This year is a little different having the Arrowhead house to furnish and having a cute baby bump! I will be sure to look for items that work both for maternity and non-maternity as well as good home finds. I’m on the search for fluffy pillows, throws and candles for house guests. One of the things I LOVE about the sale is that it includes CURRENT ITEMS for fall so when the sale is over all the pieces go back to retail price August 6.

So like I said, we will be spending the holiday at Lake Arrowhead, which means I opted for a simple white dress for myself, a blue banana dress for my eldest, polos for my boys, and overalls for my youngest daughter. I love how Nordstrom always has an awesome online selection of girls and boys clothes. My eldest is growing like a weed, so if I’m unsure about sizing I order two sizes and easily return from home. Having a large family, Nordstrom has also provided conveniences like curbside pick up. So easy! I just parked and called the number they provided and me and the kids and I waited in the car while the store associate loaded our bags. Super convenient and just another reason to love Nordstrom right? When I’m dressing them, it’s all about simplicity when you’re planning on having a low key weekend with lots of grilling and my favorite flag cake. Have you ever made a flag cake? It’s amazing! I’ve included the recipe below.
