red pants c/o ALICE + OLIVIA // studded boots // blouse // sunglasses // chloé bag c/o FARFETCH and similar

You already know I’m obsessed with red and, well, wide leg pants for that matter as well! I really think nothing packs so much of a punch as wide leg pants in the color red. They just kind of make a statement, don’t they?

I was attending an event in Beverly Hills last week and needed a chic, sophisticated outfit without too much frill or layering. They’re a great option for when you need something slightly more formal, but don’t want to go over the top. Perfect balance! Also, I don’t need to remind you, it’s been a steady 80 degrees around LA, and this outfit fit the bill. I linked below some additional options for Valentine’s Day as well as some of my favorite red pants.

Who loves the wide leg fit as much as me?

Red pants from cropped to wide leg to flared, they’re sure to make a statement! I give  every price point from $31 to $500!

White Tops are so flattering. I love how this front tie works for high waisted pants and everything in between. It looks cute dressed down with jeans as well!

More Small Bags – Anyone else as obsessed with small bags as I am? I usually put my favorite lip treatment and credit card in them and I’m off. It’s nice to give the mom bag (and your back) a day off.

How do you have so many clothes and how do you find time to wear them all?

Haha I don’t actually. I try and wear as many as I can.

What blogs do you follow?

I love how Blair at Atlantic-Pacific pairs the unexpected, she’s truly an artist.

Where do you go for fashion and style inspiration?

Streetstyle. Traveling and seeing new places and things help inspire. I love Audrey Hepburn’s timeless style.

What do you do when you’re in a funk or do you ever not feel inspired?

Yes! Definitely. Every artist or content creator feels pressure to create and not always inspired to do so. 1. Take time off if you can 2. Start Exercising 3. Begin journaling 4. Write down your goals and put them somewhere visible – like your bathroom mirror, the fridge 5. Have a friend keep you accountable. Dare I say 6. Get off Social Media! I hesitate since that is my job but there is nothing wrong with giving it a break. Don’t watch stories if it gives you FOMO, go take a walk and do the above 5 things before you check your social media accounts. Easier said than done but you’ll be much happier.

What are your top styling tips?

KISS Keep it simple. I have to tell myself this when I get thrown lots of trends at once. I like to pick out one item (often shoes if I’m honest!) that inspires me and style around it. Sometimes its a fringe bootie, a belt, or a fuzzy bag.

If there’s one thing I should invest in for my closet this winter it’s a . . .

Camel Coat! Don’t hesitate. Some of my favorite looks are when I’ve worn a camel coat. It’s crazy versatile.

What do you eat for breakfast and what do you feed your kids?

I eat steel cut oatmeal, the kids like protein pancakes but all that to say, we go in spurts. Sometimes egg white omelet since I took the Pinnertest and it showed I was allergic to egg yolk!

Who do you use to take your pictures?

I have a couple girls here in LA I love to hire, Felicia Lasala, Jordan Kinghorn, and hubby takes them when I ask him nicely.

What are your top two snacks you make for your kids?

Kale chips (I recently added parmesan and I love it!), apple chips, bean chips, do you notice a theme?

What are you most looking forward to when renovating the cabin?

The kitchen! I love how open it will be to be able to hear the kids playing in the loft, see the fireplace and walk out to the deck. Talk about cozy kitchen. More to come!

How do you run the blog and have so many kids?

Ha! probably one of my MOST asked questions. I’ll tell you a story. When I had my first corporate jobs at a bank, at the end of the day, I would take the elevator down and listen to some of the moms who happened to be executives also and share that they didn’t want to be home and that their kids were closer to the nanny. Because of that, the nanny would travel with them and overall she seemed ok that her kids preferred the nanny to herself. While part of me wanted their corner office one day, I inwardly decided to always have a relationship with my kids, even when I’m in business. So, what does that look like? Since I have four, it’s important to take one at a time out for a date, sometimes hot cocoa, sometimes it’s target. Just to check in and see how they are. When I have deadlines, I get a sitter and go to the coffee shop and write, I stay up past my bedtime (hence the need for eye patches for puffy eyes), I delegate jobs, etc. I often say, if it’s something you want badly enough, it will happen. That is true for many and it’s true for me. I work when I can where I can, and is that always balanced no, I’m human and I’m still learning. But my relationships with my kids always are first priority.

If it were up to me, I would’ve made the Pantone color of the year blush. You cannot deny how hot this color is right now. I love it paired with neutrals or even red. I included the rug and dinnerware I purchased for the cabin. How cute right? As well as the pink shaggy coat every IT girl is wearing.

Nothing takes my ripped jeans and sneakers to chic faster than a scarf tie blouse. Recently I was thinking of writing a 20 Things I Can’t Live Without post because, as I was just telling Reid, when it comes right down it, I’d find that I really just style my outfits using 20 items over and over. I imagine we all could use a good closet edit. I know, I know, big words from a girl with shoes all over the house and an overflowing closet. But think of it!

For this particular outfit, this cute heart skirt is the focal point. I wanted to give you girls time to order your Valentine’s outfits, so if you order now you will get it in time for Valentines day! I paired it with a scarf blouse, camel coat and boots in neutrals that strangely color match with my faux fur collar. I like pairing red with neutrals and here it just works! What are you wearing for Valentine’s Day?

7. Hobo Wallet I recently purchased this wallet and I’m obsessed. So much room!
I have had so many friends and followers message me about what to bring or buy to a warm weather getaway. Living in LA, and not being far from a beach or pool, here are some of my top picks and things in my beach bag. Don’t forget SPF, a good book, and leave your worries at the beach. I always bring my go-to cutoffs and a bunch of black and white tanks to mix and match.

Shop more swimsuits below. There are a lot on sale right now, like this stripe one-piece I just ordered, hurry up sizes are limited.
After all, they say, happiness comes in waves. Happy Friday!

We had the opportunity last week to go as a family to The Ritz Carlton Rancho Mirage in Palm Springs.  The brand ASbyDF invited us to stay for two nights and feature some of their gorgeous new arrivals. Needless to say, it was a beautiful desert getaway with so many amenities and natural beauty surrounding us. To name a few, the separate kids pool and adults vista pool, the spa (I got a facial) , Reid hit the gym and club lounge. The latter of which really made the trip.  The Club Lounge provides breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks from 7 – 10 at night.  Our room happened to be a couple doors down from the club lounge. So convenient and we goofed around in their for a little while. Our special last night, we ate dinner at State, a restaurant within the hotel. We enjoyed decadent burgers, steaks and excellent kids menu.  Oh and the kids finished their plates, thanks to the full day of swimming. As a special treat, the kids were invited into the kitchen to meet the chef, so cool!  They couldn’t believe the full size pig getting ready for a roasting.  If you’re planning a trip to Rancho Mirage, don’t miss these things:

STAR GAZING starts at 6:30, see the bright stars (If the weather permits…it usually does) and meanwhile enjoy a milky way candy bar.

HIKING you can go hiking around the hotel and nearby Indian Canyon. If we had more than 2 days, we would have loved to hike!

POOLS and hot tubs, we enjoyed the kids pool but there’s also a beautiful adult only pool with a spectacular view.

THE SPA you can use their hot tubs till 7:30 that day of service.

THE GYM has gymnastic rings and battle ropes for some HIIT (High Intensity Impact Training)

Have you been to Palm Springs or Rancho Mirage? Let me know in the comments below. And we are re-vamping the blog, so feel free to share what you’d like to see more of — stay tuned!

I never wanna stay in sweats all day said no one ever! I found a way to still feel super comfy but up the chic factor. I recently found sounds comfy sweatshirts and I love it paired with flared jeans! To make the whole ensemble feel chic and pulled together, I added a hat and floral platform heels. The latter of which I don’t wear when I’m running the kids around, to be honest, I wear pink sneakers daily!

I love how LA designers Lauren Alexander and April Leight keep re-thinking cozy basics. The t-shirt gets an upgrade with a fresh cutout. It’s a modern cut coupled with a cozy fabric. Which is your favorite?

5 Wide Leg Pants

by Shalice Noel

4. White pants   (Also cute – Flowy white pants )

If you follow my Sunday pictures, 9/10 times I’m wearing wide leg pants! Wide leg pants can be intimidating and challenging to style, however, I happen to love them. Here are a couple tips to follow. To make you look taller, opt for the stripe pants, secondly, keep your look monochrome, if you’re wearing white pants, wear a white top with a cute jacket or blazer. DO the same for red and black, and the denim high waisted, opt for a crop top or tie a button down shirt. Play around with the proportions and find what works for you. Which is your favorite?

I’m all about being efficient with my morning routine—the less there is to do, the more time I can save, which is where L’Occitane’s new Shea 3-in-1 Cleansing Water comes in. It is seriously the cleansing product I’ve been missing.

I recently did away with lash extensions, so I’ve been trying to find the most gentle cleanser to take off my mascara. I’ve used various products but haven’t settled on one, yet. If I have a little more time in the morning (aka my eldest makes the pancake batter), I’ll go for a deeper cleanse and use Shea Butter Cleansing Oil, but when I’m trying to get everyone out the door, I’ll use the Shea 3-in-1 Cleansing Water. I massage it into my face with closed eyes and dry or wet hands. It becomes a little milky, then I rinse it off with water. Did I mention it smells amazing? I liken it to the combination of baby powder, Shea butter and fresh paper, all rolled into one. Hubby is a fan of the smell too, ha.

After the last rinse, I’m feeling super clean. I finish with Shea Butter Light Comforting Cream for dry to very dry skin. I’ve been told I have dry skin, so I’m definitely not skipping this step. I like that it’s not greasy and I feel fresh and ready for my day. For reference, I use Light Comforting Cream for day and Shea Butter Ultra Rich Comforting cream for evening.

Violà! I’m ready to face my day—kids, school, work, and the LA smog.

While I’m on the topic—here are my overall skincare tips:

– Always wash your face at night. Not washing your face at night can age you, clog your pores and hinder your skin’s ability from repairing itself at night. So it’s kind of IMPORTANT.

– I try and drink 8 glasses of water a day. If that seems overwhelming, try 3 glasses by 12 noon, 3 more by 3, and 2 more before/with dinner – split it up glass by glass.

– Drink fresh squeezed lemon before you eat or drink in the morning. This helps your skin (and digestion!).

– Sleep! Always get 8 hours of sleep at night. This has been extra hard for me (a night owl), but exercise with the kids is helping!

What are some of your skincare tips? PLEASE share!

Thank you L’Occitane for sponsoring this post!

I am not one to school you on what hats are most flattering, what works for your face and outfit, however, these four hats have changed my opinion on hats. I was always one to shy away from hats since I was going off the assumption that my head was too big to wear them let alone look good in them. That however is wrong according to my hair stylist who told me my head is small. This new found size of my head has me googling brixton hats and fiddler caps and baseball caps alike. I’m hooked. I narrowed it down to four I regularly loose around the house, chide Reid for stealing and will likely be seen on my head on the gram 🙂 Happy Friday!

1. BASEBALL HAT I like the classic Yankees!

2. RED CAP this one is the most flattering and versatile, I can’t stop wearing it

3. BERET Get one in every color! Also in pink

4. TRUCKER HAT This is the cherry on top of a cool casual look
