Let’s just say, I’m NEVER not into trousers. They’re the season-less often overlooked classic that sits in your closet, but has endless styling possibilities. I found these at the Shopbop sale recently and they’re much better than expected. While I purchased one too many jumpsuits that I’ll probably return, these pants are a go. I’m wearing a size small and they’re equally stretchy and quality. Here I’m wearing them with Topshop camel midi booties, no longer available, but I provided a similar pair. It really is true, you look your best when you feel your best and I feel my best in trousers.

How about you?

Every sale from this blazer from Two Penny Blue gives a school uniform to a girl in Africa. A whopping 24 million girls can’t afford to go to school. After all Diane Von Furstenberg agreed, “To empower a little girl is to empower the woman she will become.” Click here for my blazer that gives back.

Spring break is just around the corner. Whether you’re living la vida loca or enjoying a staycation, a new swim suit or sundress may be in order. I’m loving these sandals with just enough embellishment to make them special and this graphic tee. The latter reminds me of a panama jack yellow tee I used to fight over with my sisters and being the youngest girl, I didn’t always come up on top.

Style tip, knot the graphic tee over the swimsuit, or use a light wrap to wear over a swimsuit so it looks like a bodysuit. Next tip, look better in whatever you wear with a ‘fake tan.’ I use tan towels for my body and this serum for my face (I buy “medium” and don’t use tan towels on my face since my face is more sensitive).

Whether you’re home or away, I hope it’s relaxing and you enjoy a good book and the ones you love most! We will likely be at Lake Arrowhead enjoying the lake and pine trees.

Happy Humpday!

I’m still NOT over leopard. Last week I scored this leopard duster on the Shopbop sale and haven’t looked back. The length was my main motivation for buying it and the softness, well that was the cherry on top! I got tons of compliments on it when I wore it Sunday. Since this one is in low stock, I’m posting more below:

Drapey trench // Wrap Sweater // Hunter boots // Denim Shorts Similar // Red Brixton Hat

Whats that workout ring you use while sitting?

Its called a pilates ring and I use it to strengthen my thigh muscles. Actually, it can be used to strengthen almost every area of your body. it helps you isolate specific muscles you want to work on. Plus, it’s hardly an investment at $10 and up.

How old are you?

Thirty-six

We know you love Chipotle. What is your usual order there?

I usually order a veggie bowl, white rice, pinto beans, cilantro on top, green salsa, cheese and guacamole. I squeeze a lemon on top. That’s it! I craved them so much when pregnant with Levi.

What shampoo/conditioner do you use and what was that treatment you called your “mom-hack?”

The treatment is called a “keratin treatment” I do it every 6 months or so and it straightens my hair with simply blow drying. I switched from Cavier (which I still love but just ran out of) to Amika. I use THIS detangling primer and THIS shampoo for my color. I have to ask my hair guy, Tim usually if he approves of what I’m trying. He’s really strict, lol, but he has brought my hair from blonde and broken to the longest and strongest its ever been!

What do you put into your coffee?

Vital Proteins Collagen powder. I write more about my routine here.

Who’s your inspiration?

Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, Sienna Miller! Often, I get the most inspiration when I get off Instagram and go onto Pinterest and break out old french Vogue magazines I used to hide under my bed.

Favorite Make-up products?

I’m loving RMS concealereyelash curler, Nuface FIX I use under my eyes before make-up,

What belly band did you use when you were pregnant with Levi?

I bought the bella band in black and white and it was a  LIFESAVER. It’s on sale for under ten dollars right now.

How do you manage the blog and your family

I’d be lying if I said it is easy. Some days I spend more time on the blog, others at events and shoots. My job and family life has seasons of business and not as busy. I try and balance as much as I can but not everything is a hard cut balance and some days I put work aside and take my kids to the park. I try not to be guilty either way, because God knows my heart and my desire to be a godly wife and mother.

What is your fab 4 smoothie?

I wrote all about it here.

Do you do botox?

No, but I use the Nuface Fix for fine lines and wrinkles

That’s it for now. Let me know if I missed anyone’s question below or email me: shalice@shalicenoel.com.

I got a lot of questions when I featured this little tool in my stories the other day. Tera, the owner of NuFace, came to my house to give me a treatment with her new device – the FIX! I was so looking forward to this facial lift and it was just what I needed on a rainy Friday. Who doesn’t want to tone and lift their face? I saw the real results when she lifted the left half of my face and left the right side. OH MY. The left side was perky and lifted, the right side looked tired.

To get this result, she used both the mini device and the new FIX on my fine lines. Using both devices, she said, will give you the overall best results. I asked her when is the best time of day to use the FIX, she said she applies it in the morning or on the airplane or car. It has a convenient USB cord to recharge it. It also has a 3 min motor (it shuts off after 3 min), so you can do 3 min on each side of your face. And don’t forget the forehead!

She calls the FIX pen an “eraser.” The “mini” device lifts the neck as well. Don’t forget the neck – it’s the most forgotten part (at least it is for me) and SO important. No one wants a wrinkly neck. Watch how founder, Tera lifts her neck using the trinity here. One of the most frequently asked questions was if I can get just one product, which would it be? I would say the mini since it has an overall lifting and toning effect. I lost the charging cord to my mini, though, so I’ve been using the FIX daily. I’ve been loving my more “awake” look. It’s like a work-out for my face!

How do I use the Trinity device?

  1. Cleanse with an oil-free cleanser
  2. Apply the gel primer
  3. Start with your neck, glide towards the back of the neck
  4. Turn your device on – they recommend on ‘high’ but you can adjust to your comfort.
  5. Apply gel to jawline, cheeks, and forehead.
  6. Always glide slowly and in upward motion. Enjoy the results!

The “FIX” // The “Mini” // the “Trinity” // I just purchased this one today and sold out at Nordstrom but found here: “NuBody Skin Toning Device” I plan to use it on my stomach where my last birth left some marks, stay tuned for results! It promises to tone, firm, and smooth away the look of dimples and cellulite. My mom gave me the Nuface mini years ago and loved using it and the lift until I lost the power cord! Shop them below:

I’m going to shake the boat a little bit in today’s article. Reid and I will take a ski trip to the mountains over a trip to Disneyland any day. Yes, it’s true! For those diehard Disney goers, feel free to blast me in my comments below…kindly though. But here are my thoughts. Skiing is a great way to be active, learn something new, improve at a sport, challenge ourselves physically, face our fears, encourage each other…I can go on and on. Skiing is good for families.

When we plan our ski vacation we always pick Vail. For us personally, it’s centrally located for Reid’s parents who meet us there. We fly from the west coast and they drive from the midwest. They love the opportunity to see the kids ski and help us by babysitting Levi so I can ski. If you have grandparents who don’t ski, you need to know Vail offers free scenic gondola rides after 3:30, so the grandparents can join the kids on top of the mountain, watch them ski and then grab hot chocolates at Bistro Fourteen.

We flew Southwest Airlines from Burbank to Denver. Southwest is one of the few airlines that has bags fly free and with snow gear, and we knew we’d have a lot of bags. We got into Denver late afternoon and by the time our shuttle picked us up, the sun was down and we missed the scenery. When you book your trip, make sure to get to Denver no later than 1:00 pm. It’s a two-hour drive from Denver to Vail and the sun goes down around 5:00 pm.

Vail has world-class skiing and attracts people from all over the world. Vail has amazing restaurants like Flame (our favorite) and Standard. Also, the streets are heated, so you don’t really have to slosh around in your boots to explore the town. Where were heated streets when I was a kid? They also have free transportation that will take you from one side of Vail to the other.

We recommend ski lessons for the kids to get reacquainted with their skis and learn mountain etiquette. Secretly, Reid and I wanted to run off together and ski alone while they were in school. We met up with them for lunch and then did some runs with the ski instructor and the kids in the afternoon before I had to run off and feed Levi. You can book ski lessons online or even the day of. They offer private, semi-private or group lessons. With the four kids, we chose a private group lesson. Be aware though, you can’t mix snowboard lessons with ski lessons.

Besides skiing, we also took the kids to Adventure Ridge at the top of the Lionshead Gondola.  Adventure Ridge offers snow biking, an alpine coaster and snow tubing. The kids chose snow tubing so while I stayed home with Levi and ordered room service, Reid took the kids tubing. Very much a highlight for the kids.

The final day we were blessed with lots and lots of snow! We almost got up early enough to make first tracks. It was beautiful skiing with the snow falling and we skied the morning together as a family. With the fresh powder, the kids were able to take on the blue runs with no problems. Even our five year old was taking them on. Can I remind you how cute kids are skiing? Making fresh tracks in the powder was a great way to end our day…even though we didn’t really want it to end.

If you are curious, we stayed at Ritz-Carlton Residences, Vail. Our place had two bedrooms, a spacious living room with a pullout couch, a well stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a powder room and convenient washer/dryer. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and provides shuttle service anywhere you need to go. I went downstairs to order a quick bite to eat while the older kids were tubing and the staff brought it up shortly to my room. Reid and I loved the gym area. We got to try the new Pelaton bikes. If we were brave enough, I would love to try the hot tub and heated pool. Funny enough, our kids jumped in and quickly begged for warm towels and blankets. Oh to be a kid!

I’ve been searching for what to wear to an evening out. Post baby 4mos and I cannot deny I feel and look a little different than I did a year ago. That said, I found this beautiful flowey jumpsuit (that looks like a dress) evening attire. I LOVE it and got lots of compliments wearing it. If you have an evening wedding to attend, cocktail hour, charity or just a BBQ date night, I recommend going the jumpsuit route.

Since the jumpsuit is from Shopbop and they’re having their annual sale, I included some faves below. I’ve been shopping the Shopbop sale in between making kids lunches and vacuuming up Legos. Oops. Lot’s of birthdays happening in the upcoming two weeks, so I’ll make it brief. I’ve been crushing on all things olive, jumpsuits with insanely large wide legs, anything belted, and exaggerated sleeves, particularly the balloon sleeve. I found a couple of those things and more on the Shopbop site. I included many of them below, so check it out and let me know what you think. Bonus, if you have any idea how to organize these Lego’s!

Jumpsuit is by Fame and Partners // Heels c/o Sam Edelman

1.Stripe Trench 2. Lace Cover-up under $20 // 3. Earrings // 4. Slip Dress // 5. Cropped Jeans to show off the cute spring sandals // I also love THESE cropped jeans and THESE distressed shorts // 6. Mules // 7. Peasant Top

The Shopbop sale kicks off today and I am super excited to share with you guys some of my favorites. It’s their BUY MORE SAVE MORE event that happens every year. Here’s the deets:

15% off when you spend $200, 20% off when you spend $500, 25% off when you spend $800 or more.

Which are your favorites?

lace top on sale // heels (60% off) // flare button jeans // coat similar // Gucci belt bag

I can’t tell you how excited I am that the sun is out! It has been a rainy couple of weeks in LA, and there is more to come. In the meantime, I’m stocking up on lace tops. This one doubles as a swim cover-up, dressed up with heels or dressed down with spanx leggings and a baseball cap. Which is your favorite? I feel like this gloomy weather lately is making us enjoy the brief moments of sunshine all the more! Its all about attitude right? Especially when I’m facing homework with the kids this week, so much patience, but summer is around the corner and seeing their “Ah-ha” moments are pretty special. Hope you have a great start to the week!

I was so excited to finally have an excuse to break out this coat. LA is having a major cold spell and I’m loving the sweater weather! Here I’m wearing an oversize teddy coat, sweater dress (under $40), small camel bag, and tall boots. Anyone else a fan of this LA chill? I won’t deny I miss our beach days, but I don’t miss the sand clean-up!
