Want to know something I’m really bad at? Buying myself bras. Reid can attest. I may be oversharing, he is better at buying himself new underwear than I am at buying new bras. I tend to stick to my favorite nude and black bras even though they may or may not fit. It’s crazy to think that our breasts change so much over time – from births to pregnancy and back. We can all agree the women’s bodies undergo lots of change, so even more reason to opt for comfort.

I must say, I was a little apprehensive at first. I’m a harsh critic when it comes to bras and I have worn underwire bras for ages, both for the structure and support. I was curious to try the Jockey Forever fit bra, especially after reading almost all the 39 reviews. I ordered both the medium and small sizes. I ended up fitting both, oddly enough and wore it for all day comfort and coverage.

A couple facts: It’s designed by women and for women, it is wire free, has flexible and breathable molded cups, and soft and smooth fabric (I can attest to this!)

Drumroll…. Do you want to know which one I LOVED and have on as I write? The T-shirt molded cup was my favorite for overall, comfort, fit and look. I ordered it in black and now I need it in nude. Try it for yourself!

3 Reasons Why I’m Giving My Baby a Probiotic

1 THE FIRST 6 MOS OF BABY’S LIFE ARE MOST CRITICAL. So much critical growth happens during this time from autoimmune to metabolic development.

2 9/10 BABIES ARE MISSING B. INFANTIS

(THE KEY GOOD BACTERIA) THAT DIGESTS NUTRIENTS IN BREASTMILK AND PROTECTS BABY’S GUT

3 NOT ALL PROBIOTICS ARE THE SAME.

STRAIN DOES MATTER. EVIVO IS THE ONLY PROBIOTIC CLINICALLY PROVEN TO RESTORE THE GOOD BACTERIA (B. INFANTIS), REDUCING BAD BACTERIA IN BABY’S GUT BY 80%.

I’ll preface this blog post by saying, I forgot SO much after I had my 4th child 6 years ago. So, when Levi arrived last October, I found myself trying to jog my memory about what to give a baby suffering from colic, how to cure mastitis, and what to do to keep up my nursing supply. I asked a couple friends, read up on some of the topics and educated myself as these issues have risen. Levi is newly 7 months. I’m taking one day at a time. A couple weeks into Levi’s 6 month birthday, we began seeing bad diaper rash, eczema, and gas. Poor guy. I called my best friend, like I usually do and she urged me to give him a probiotic. And since I’m nursing, I should take one as well. We later found out, his ailments were signs of bad gut health. We started giving Levi Evivo and just waited. I put one sachet into a bowl mixed with 3-5ml breast milk. To my surprise, he started waving his arms, which meant he loved it! Well, that made everything easier. Within a week, the redness behind his ear from eczema lessened.

With increased usage of antibiotics during delivery, c-sections (while both good in their own right), have interrupted the transfer of good bacteria from mom to baby. The good bacteria, the fancy name for it is “B.infantis” is missing from baby. What do we do? Scientists developed this probiotic for babies as the solution to this problem. I want Levi to thrive in all areas including developing a strong gut to help him live a happy and healthy life.

What does it take? Without B. infantis, bad bacteria can thrive threatening him with diabetes, allergies, colic and what we already experienced with eczema. I had no idea probiotics were SO IMPORTANT. My only regret so not having this with all of my kids! Thank you Evivo for making this product that is so instrumental to a baby’s health. Levi will thank me one day!

What are some of the benefits? Better sleep, improved digestion, happier baby. If you’re a mother, you already know this. A fussy baby is such a challenge. I will have long days with a cranky baby at my hip and I feel like crying along with him. It is incredibly difficult to see your baby unhappy and not know how to help him. For that reason alone, give Evivo a try. Nothing is worse than a fussy baby suffering from one of the above ailments who cannot communicate with you what is wrong. All he or she can do is cry. If you’re not a mom, a great gift idea is a gift card for Evivo. Believe me, a new or seasoned mom (like myself) would thank you many times over for such a gift to myself and baby. If you’re pregnant, give yourself some brownie points, plan ahead and purchase a month starter kit which is less than $3 a day. Less than a latte. As for me, I plan to continue to give Levi Evivo. My sister-in-law is hoping to get pregnant soon with their second. Since their first had colic, I plan to introduce her to Evivo for baby #2. She will thank me later!

I partnered with Walmart to share some baby registry favorites! Fifth time around, I’m anything but ready and prepared. That may seem odd but it is true. While I have forgotten a lot of the essentials, I have found some great baby registry essentials at Walmart!

So, what are some of my essentials? Silk lovie, Burp Clothes, organic crib sheet, organic clothes, cell phone toy (because he always reaches for mine!), toy keys (you can freeze), and terry cloth bath robe are just some of my favorites I’ve found at Walmart.

Thousands of items online are “Next Day eligible,” and that is awesome because I’m a busy mom who needs things FAST.

In the end, Levi has the important things covered: loving parents and adoring siblings, for everything else, we have Walmart 2-day and Next Day shipping on most items to keep us prepared and well stocked. Because it doesn’t look like I’ll have my act together anytime soon. In the meantime, get all your baby registry essentials at Walmart, from diapers to rockers, to cribs!

Snakeskin Must-Haves

There are so many good snakeskin accessories on the market right now. From boots to mules to belt bags to trendy tops. It’s hard to navigate what is worth your time. And worth expanding your closet for <cough> sorry hubby! If you’re on the fence, here’s a style tip: wear snakeskin with lots of neutrals. Snakeskin, like leopard, is loud and needs neutrals to mute it. In turn, it stands out in a classy way.
Below are the links to my boots, mules and belt bag I bought for $20! Which is another tip I have when it comes to bold prints like snakeskin or other trends – look for some affordable options! I think snakeskin is kind of classic so investing in a good pair of shoes that you can wear with denim or neutral trousers or an accessory of some kind makes sense too if you ask me. But mostly I like to try and snag bolder items (like the neon trend – anyone else pick up on that too?) at a lower price point.
Have you tried the snakeskin trend? If so, how are you styling it?

Wide Leg Pants c/o FRAME // Cora Clutch // Sandals // Crochet Top similar

Today’s outfit is giving me serious throwback vibes and I’m not upset about it. You guys know I love a good 70s-inspired look and every piece of this outfit has that feeling. This might not be your typical school pick up and drop off apparel, but I’m definitely going to be working all these pieces into my regular rotation.

Let’s start by talking about the top. Did crochet ever go out of style? Personally, I don’t think so. I think it’s been on trend non-stop since the 60s, but I’m especially loving it right now. It’s perfect for those hot summer days. I actually thrifted this top, so I can’t share this exact option, but I’ll link more crochet pieces I have my eye on.

As for the pants, wide-leg denim is quickly becoming my number one go-to. And now that it’s summer, you can expect to see me in this white pair non-stop. If you don’t have a pair (white or regular denim) in your wardrobe already, you have to pick some up ASAP! You’ll understand why I love them so much as soon as you put them on!

And isn’t my little purse fun? I think accessories are what make an outfit most of the time. Even though this one won’t quite cut it for mom duty, it’s still fun to wear when I run out for a meeting or weekend brunch with friends.

What are your feelings about crochet and rocking a 70s-inspired look? Are you into it?

I get asked often what we eat and what are some yummy snacks for picky eaters. Well, today I’m sharing one of our FAVORITE snacks. I came home from work yesterday, and the kids helped me make kale chips with parmesan. One of our favorites! It is quick and easy and EVERYONE including daddy helps up eat it. I usually get a couple bunches at the store.

KALE CHIPS WITH PARMESAN

  1. Wash and dry a large bunch of kale
  2. Massage avocado oil ( I use this because it resists heat yup to 500 degrees fahrenheit)
  3. Sprinkle with sea salt (I like Kosher salt)
  4. (Optional) sprinkle with fresh parmesan
  5. Place in the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes depending on your oven.
  6. Place on a plate and consume as soon as it cools down. In our house, it is eaten right away!

What do you think? Try it this weekend and let me know how it turned out!

xx

Father’s Day is fast approaching and Reid is REALLY good at knowing exactly what he wants for Father’s day. He will probably check in later this week and ask if I ordered anything off this list above. He’s so predictable. I think most of us could agree, men are sometimes THE HARDEST to buy gifts for. Above we have an outfit, styling paste, laptop bag, and the pre-workout Reid swears by for you to peruse. What are you getting your husband or father?

After being gone a whole week, we were more than happy to see the 4 kiddos this weekend. We enjoyed a morning at church with papa, and an afternoon at the nursery buying plants and driving up to Lake Arrowhead. We planted (my favorite) raspberry bushes that take me back to playing Candy Land on my grandma’s porch snaking on raspberries while the air smelled like roses. Ah to be 5 again! We got a lot accomplished. Well my dad and Reid did while I nursed Levi. We also brought up 3 paint colors to try on the Lake Arrowhead cabin. Caviar by Sherwin Williams won, now, we wait for the city’s approval. Exciting things coming up. Here’s a link below to more dresses and leather jackets I’m loving:

As always, my shop page is open 24/7 and you can follow me on the Liketoknow.it app for immediate outfit details. Thanks for stopping by! xx Shalice

Our Trip to NYC

by Shalice Noel

Why we went

Myself, Reid and Levi are in New York city all week for work meetings and reunions with friends. It wasn’t easy leaving the four older siblings at home, but I worry less knowing they’re in good hands with my dad watching them. Funny enough, we really miss the kids help with Levi. My oldest is so helpful changing his diapers and holding him so I have a little break. This week, I had some really exciting meetings, more of which I can share later. It was a highlight to be able to meet up with my friend Laura from Brooklyn, and do a little shopping in Soho. I forgot how good the NYC shopping is and HOW GOOD the style here is. The NYC girl surely knows how to dress: from classic trench coats, to simple totes, and stunning boots. See below what I wore, and where we ate. Let me know in the comments if I missed anything. Next visit, Guggenheim is on the list! Can’t wait to go back.

What I wore:

paper bag shorts similar // sweater (only $25.99!) // red sandals // earrings

blazer c/o/ Veronica Beard // crop top // black orchid denim similar jeans // white sandals // snake bag // earrings

kate jeans c/o Marissa Webb denim similar // crop top // trench coat similar // red heels // my Chanel diaper bag // Longchamp bag //

Sweater // jeans under $80 // Orange sandals // Turquoise Ring

White flowy pants // Anine Bing Tee // Sandals // Brahmin bag

Where we ate:

Estancia 460 // 460 Greenwich St. // I ordered salmon, Reid ordered the fried chicken.

ABCv // 38 E. 19th St. // breakfast vegan yumminess

Laduree // 398 W. Broadway// I had a meeting with Lago’s for breakfast I got the sunny side up eggs and almond milk latte.

Maman // 205 Hudson // We went there for lunch, sandwiches and coffee. Cutest southern frenchie vibe
