One of the fun things about moving from LA from Chicago is everything is new and we are always discovering something new here in LA! We like to support small businesses, so it was fun to stumble upon some unique cafés that make LA so unique. Just don’t forget to bring your laptop, a magazine and order a double espresso. A good café is worth savoring.

Lace up Pants with Nordstrom

One thing I love about Nordstrom is their awesome selection, customer service and brands! I have SO many brands at my fingertips (mostly at 1am) on Nordstrom.com, from investment pieces to essential tee’s and affordable bandana’s. All of which I plan on stocking up on the latter for our road trip this summer. More on that later. Meanwhile, these white pants are completely on trend and very versatile. I’m loving everything laced-up from sweaters to high waist pants. See more of my picks below. 6 Must Have Gingham

Gingham is not just for picnics. It’s a fun-loving easy-to style print that I love with jeans, white pants or skirts. For example, I’ve had this beautiful gingham wrap dress in my closet forever  but it was too short on me, but then in dawned on me, I could pair a fluted navy skirt underneath. Midnight styling sessions while the kids sleep really is paying off. However, the 7am alarm clock is a rude awakening. Thankfully, my in-laws arrive next week. 5 Jeans I’m Loving Lately

You probably already know, I collect denim. I’m pretty picky about the wash and fit, but I found a couple faves, some of which are under $100! Don’t forget to size up since they arrive pretty stiff. I’m definitely bringing a couple pairs to Mexico with Reid and I, as I love how they look with ruffles and going out tops. Take the Town in Blush Satin

I’ve been eying this top for a while and I finally got my hands on it. The terracotta color is striking and I love pairing it with a neutral bag and white wide leg pants. How to Wear your Stripes

I won’t lie, stripes are probably my favorite print to style, and probably hands down one of the essentials every girl should own in her closet. That said, you should buy yours wisely. Here, I styled the multi stripe button down, with another stripe layer, go-to light wash Levi’s, and barely there heels to make you look longer and leaner, to balance those oh-so-essential prints. Just in time for the weekend. Speaking of, I will be in full birthday mom-mode, celebrating both my boy’s birthdays, 4 yrs, and 6 yrs. Where did my babies go? Overalls are making a comeback – are you ready? The trick is how you style them. I prefer the looser off the shoulder top, nude heels and stripe tunic. It’s a boho chic look that works for casual Friday to farmer’s market Saturdays. Just don’t forget a big bag to collect all your market spoil. Here’s hoping I can convince my 7 year-old to wear her cute overalls with me. But I’m not going to hold my breath since moments together and relationships outweigh even the cutest photo op. PS. A Silk top and a Cute Dog

Fishnets, cropped denim and extra silky tops for the win! And no, we didn’t get a dog. Here I’m standing with our friend’s dog, La Mer. And while La Mer is incredibly friendly and absolutely gorgeous, she’s also been known to eat lightbulbs and shoes. The kids desperately want a dog, but hubby and I aren’t quite ready to take the plunge (lightbulbs! shoes!) so we compromise by borrowing other people’s dogs. It’s working so far. But IF we were to get a dog, our 3 favorite dog breeds are Silver labs, Weimaraners, and any small mutt with a black eye. I’m just glad La Mer didn’t take a bite out of my Miu Miu’s. Now, that would be a whole different story.
