An easy solution for a tall girl is wearing a dress as a tunic. I paired this ruffle dress from Chrissy Teigen’s collab with Revolve with my favorite wide leg pants. While you may second guess the whole idea of a dress over pants, it totally works with sock boots and a floral bag. Perfect for date night which included dining room chair shopping and getting dinner in Highland Park. What do you think of dresses over pants?

When you find a dress . . .

Do you know when you find a dress that’s a keeper and you can’t stop wearing it? Well, I think I found it. I posted a selfie wearing it with these heels, a bootie, and today I wore it to church. It flows beautifully (meaning you can dance in it) and has a longer cut in back so no worries when bending down with the kids. For chilly evenings catching sushi with friends, add this suede jacket. Little Red Dress x Datenight

Few colors excite me more than red. Its such a bright and happy color that can wake up a tired color palette. I usually add a pop of red to an outfit, here I was attempting to do red head to toe, but my red bag happened to be a different red. Tones aside, I loved pairing a red dress with red flats and a circle bag, because date night should be about bold colors and the man you love. Oh and a good Thai food destination, that’s why I included 4 Thai food destinations in the LA area below:

Thai Paradise 909 W Las Tunas, San Gabriel, authentic spicy curry and good service

Sala Dang 363 S Fair Oaks, Pasadena, yummy yellow curry and great menu. We love taking friends from out of town here.

President Thai  498 S Rosemead, Pasadena, I’ve never been, but its been recommended and I can’t wait to try!

Thai Purple 27 W Garfield, Alhambra, Yummy curry and rice, I get the red curry, hubby gets the yellow.

Salad Dressing for Foodie Friday

Balsamic Vinegrette, Oriental Dressing, and Mustard Vinegrette are some of my favorites to bring for summer picnics and lunch on the patio. My favorite type of lettuce is butter lettuce and I depending on what I have in the fridge, I usually add avocado, salted sunflower seeds, and black olives. What are your favorite salads? Balsamic Vinegrette 

1 t minced garlic

3 T sugar or 1 T agave

3 T balsamic vinegar

1/3 cup canola oil or grapeseed oil

1 t salt

Instructions: mix, shake and chill before use.

Oriental Dressing

4 T sugar

1 t. salt

2 t. soy sauce

1/2 cup vegetable oil

6 T white vinegar

Combine in a lidded jar, and shake well.

Mustard Vinagrette from Bobby Flay

Zest and juice of 1 large lemon

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon

1 teaspoon clover honey

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

1/2 cup olive oil or canola oil

whisk and enjoy!

This weekend we are off to Santa Monica, and if the kids have anything to do with it, we will stop by the beach. I’m keeping it simple with a cotton dress, sneakers (or cute sandals in blush velvet) and my trusty hat. I’ love that this dress is under $50 so the inevitable spills don’t stress me out. We’ve been venturing out to more neighborhoods like Silverlake and loving the vibe. Laid back, artsy, and great coffee shops. And did I mention cool vintage cars? I’m a fan. It’s starting to feel like summer so what’s easier than a summer dress? I love that its only one piece and all you need is shoes to complete the outfit. What’s easier on the weekend than a racer back cotton dress and sneakers? I love it also paired with pointy heels and a blazer. It’s a long to-do list as it’s my last weekend in LA, before we head to Chicago. So, easy dresses and sneakers it is. And did I mention this dress is only $59? Easter is Sunday, and you don’t have a lot of time to prepare, but you want something less than $100? Problem solved. Here, I wore a satin dress, suede trench and blush heels. I kept similar tones together and added a chic trench to add an overall polish. I like the idea of a dress I don’t spend a mini fortune on so I have more of a budget for shoes, a designer bag and not a mini heart attack over a coffee spill. Yes, I’m speaking from experience. I also put this outfit on my shop page, and down below. I mean, how cute is this gingham cold shoulder dress with a belt?
