Hello everyone!

If you get my newsletter, you may have already seen this, but it’s obvious I’m loving all things winter right now. From ordering faux garland to getting Levi a new stocking, to rocking to Mariah Caray’s All I want from Christmas, I guess you could say I’m in the Spirit.

Wow, how is October over already?! Per usual time is flying and I can’t believe it. Our little guy is growing so fast and we’re all so excited to celebrate our first holiday season with him.

And speaking of the holidays, winter is basically here and it’s time to share what I have to have to make it through the season. Here are my 9 winter staples:

1. What’s winter without a super cozy blanket?

2. Fall is all about a good turtleneck Sweater. And this one is under $60.

3. I cannot recommend a silk pillowcase enough. It’s so good for your skin and hair.
4. A quality facial oil like this one from L’Occitane helps keep your skin extra moisturized.
5. These tan towelettes are miracle workers when it comes to helping you look tan sans the dangerous rays.
6. Even when it’s not winter, taking a hair and nail supplement can never hurt.
7. Depuff any inflammation from all that cozy winter and holiday food with this amazing ice roller that has changed the skin game for me.
8. $19 leggings are easy on the wallet and equally forgiving.
9. My skin is softer than your skin BODY SCRUB.

Spring break starts this weekend, so I’ll be chasing all four kids all week long, ditching the heels, and grabbing my flats. I’m loving the lace up sandal trend with cropped jeans and frays of course. Try it at home, you won’t be disappointed. Go HERE and tell me which is your favorite! Enter on Instagram to win a pair of your choice, winner announced Monday!

5 Sandals under $100

It’s our last week of school before spring break and what a relief. While I love bonding with B while his siblings are at school, I’m super excited to let the kids ease into the morning and not have to make that 8am drive. We’re excited to welcome my in-laws, so be prepared for lots of date-nights and going-out-for-ice-cream kinda nights.  I love how versatile this top is – great over leggings or jeans, tied or tucked, dressy or casual. See here how I styled embroidered jeans. Happy Tuesday!

Partnering with Nordstrom is always a favorite job because their style and selection never disappoints, which makes my job that much easier. Today I’m going to go out on a limb and make a case for the lesser known cousin to traditional denim, the coated denim. With all the denim everywhere, it’s always good to mix it up. Here are my top 5 faves from Nordstrom.  The burgundy denim boasts a post-Christmas, binge-friendly lycra waistband, a flattering leg, and not to mention, an awesome price. As soon as these arrived in the mail, I tried them on, did my usual tight-jean dance and called these a winner. As for styling tips, I went with my usual size and paired it with an oversize distressed sweater and my husband’s scarf. The latter was meant to be a Christmas gift to him, but like I always tell the kids, “Sharing is Caring.” See also how I styled a scarf with Nordstrom HERE and shop my coated denim look below. Which was your favorite?

Thank you Nordstrom for partnering on this post! All opinions are my own.

Since moving to Southern California in January, I haven’t wanted to leave. I mean, we moved to a vacation destination, right? However, I do plan on a short Palm Springs getaway with Reid, hopefully when my parents come visit. Fingers crossed! Here are some fun vacation essentials – a trench if it rains (in the desert of course, ha!), a crisp white shirt, stripes, and a dreamy ruffle dress.  All of which transitions nicely when you return home back to reality: school pick up and drop off, meetings, and sandy weekends at the beach.

What’s missing? What are your vacation essentials?

Years ago, I borrowed my mom’s gorgeous traditional Portuguese embroidered vest from her closet. It was chic, bohemian, and super cool for its old time traditional flavor. Recently, I spotted this lacy embroidered crop top and it reminded me of that very vest from long ago. In fact, I totally feel like I’m channeling her seasoned taste and European heritage when I wear this piece. And what better time to wear it than festival season? Who’s going to Coachella? I’m not sure what spells music and desert air more than lace, cold shoulder and cropped. Don’t forget to stock up on extra long white jeans (because I almost always stain them), and round sunnies. Countdown to desert air and endless tunes starts NOW.

The temps are getting warmer and it’s almost festival season! Reid and I celebrated it prematurely over mushroom and truffle oil pizza in Highland Park, LA. Yum. If you’re also heading over to the festival, HERE is a great site for some hair-style inspiration because let’s face it, festivals are made for rockin’ hair styles. And yeah, they’re also totally made for new dresses. Below are four of my favorite festival ready frocks (say it fast!), but sizes are limited!
