I’m on a pumpkin bread kick. If baby wants it, baby gets it, right? I found a recipe that is super easy, makes moist bread, and my kids love it. Funny tip, if you want to sleep in tomorrow, make this tonight, cut it up, lay out paper plates and tell your kids to enjoy the pumpkin bread downstairs and give you 30 more minutes of sleep in the morning. It worked for me this morning. Phew! Note: I like to substitute spelt flour for all purpose flour since it has fiber and protein and no one in my house is gluten free. I’ve been told, this recipe substitutes gluten free flour nicely. How cute is this dress?
Pumpkin Bread adapted from here
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 7×3 inch loaf pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, water and sugar until well blended. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended. Pour into the prepared pans.
- Bake for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Loaves are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

This weekend is all about Reid. I mean, if we’re serious, he’s really the VIP around here. My favorite site in the evening is seeing the kids run to the door and scream DADDY’S HOME!!!! Is there anything better than that? I even feel like joining them in a celebratory dance. I rejoice that his getting home means reinforcements are here to help with these crazy monkeys, an extra hand, and an adult conversation. Bliss. So, a little way to thank him are gifts like homemade cards and his favorite? Workout gear! This bag is only $65 for work and day trips and this cute $50 oxford goes with everything. Hope this gives you some valuable ideas, what are you getting your dad or husband?

What I’m wearing:

I won’t lie, there was a time in my life I avoided leopard, just too loud and took some thinking when styling it. Enter small print leopard and this classy shift dress. I was hooked from the moment I got that Anine Bing newsletter. I kept clicking and eventually bite the bullet. I guess newsletter marketing really works?! It can also be worn with killer yellow booties (I have yet to get my hands on them). Since I don’t have yellow boots, I paired this shirt dress with a yellow bag and nude cork sandals. The rule when styling leopard is this, it MUST be paired with a neutral, in this case cork sandals. Another leopard combo I love is denim, red, and a pop of leopard. So striking. I included some favorite leopard pieces below (also some on the Netaporter sale!). You’re welcome! Hope you have a lovely weekend. Back to my feta omelette and cuties.

Its finally Friday and we’re shooting a fun campaign than off to work on our mountain A Frame Cabin. Our weekends have been packed but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. The cabin is almost done and ready for renters! This process has been so fun to watch unfold, I hope you’ve enjoyed some of the updates. When we do stay overnight, I’ve gotten better at packing – light and only the essentials. That’s why I love this everything bag. It has a million compartments for wet clothes, (perfect for the gym) mesh padding, and breathing vents. Hey, I’ve even thought of making it a diaper bag come this fall?! I paired this bag with a fail proof black blazer, soft tee, and flattering jeans. If you’re wondering how I’m 20 weeks and wearing jeans, its thanks to the bella band! Its genius.

What are you up to this weekend?

I’m a firm believer that you when you feel your best, you look your best. I had rare afternoon solo so I hopped over to Nordstrom to try on a couple pieces that would work with my growing belly! I found this camisole top with cute laser cut for upcoming summer weekends. I also was happy I fit into this rose sleeveless body con maxi. So comfy!

How is it almost Father’s Day? I’m not sure how time is going so fast but it is. I love Father’s Day to celebrate all the hardworking dads and husbands out there. The kids usually make Reid homemade cards and we give him a couple gifts. In this case—a shirt that happens to have his initials on it and his favorite bar of dark chocolate!
I don’t know about you, but buying gifts for dads and men in general, is a challenge. For Reid, I chose a couple things I knew he needed because dads always appreciate some practicality, right? And to make things super easy for you guys, I rounded up some favorites from Nordstrom below. They always have an awesome selection. I can buy multiple sizes and colors and enjoy free at home returns (these are the best).
Gifts aside, Reid works incredibly hard for us each and every day and for that he at least deserves one day of gifts, cards and chocolate. It’s been an incredible journey watching him take on the role of “dad” and seeing him teach the kids how to swim, draw and swing a golf club. Most importantly though, he’s taught the kids to always play fair with each other and to always treat people how they’d like to be treated. Where would we be without such a wonderful man? Happy Father’s Day, Reid, not sure what we would do without you!

More Summer Weekend Faves

//
Memorial Day weekend was spent with Reid’s parents and sister and niece. We had a full house and lots of eating out and fun cousin time. We took them to Hollywood and the walk of fame, Rodeo Drive, Laguna Beach, and to see our cabin in Lake Arrowhead. It was a packed 4 days with lots of traffic and quality time together. I’m still trying to catch a nap! On Memorial Day, we caught up with friends at the Montage Hotel which happens to have an awesome beach, picnic lunch, and ended at the top of the world park in Laguna Beach. It took a little hike and I’m not going to lie my legs were super sore from a long day. I wore the comfiest maxi dress, arch support slides and statement earrings. However, the views on top were worth the trip up. All in all, a great weekend and lots of memories.
