Nordstrom Rack has beautiful essentials and many of my favorite brands at a discount. Think ruffles, gold earrings, flare jeans, and chic sandals. I love that this red ruffle blouse can be dressed up or down with white jeans or white pants. Options are key when my Monday often requires a blouse to transition from school drop-off to meetings to date night. Thankfully, Nordstrom Rack is a one-stop-shop for cute basics for the whole family. I’m always on the lookout for great basics for less, and Express is killing it in the basics department. I’m not only a proud owner of this awesome stripe button up, but I also found some classic ripped jeans and gray frayed jeans as well. But I think the big find of the night was their jersey pant. Folks, write this down. They have the cozy feel of yoga pants but manage to look board meeting ready with flats or heels. I paired it with a simple black tank (it’s been hot here) and flats. I like that it’s a functional outfit that goes well with a blazer (for dressier occasions), or jean jacket for (the farmers market), or yes, just a tank for running errands in hot weather. It’s our last week of school before spring break and what a relief. While I love bonding with B while his siblings are at school, I’m super excited to let the kids ease into the morning and not have to make that 8am drive. We’re excited to welcome my in-laws, so be prepared for lots of date-nights and going-out-for-ice-cream kinda nights.  I love how versatile this top is – great over leggings or jeans, tied or tucked, dressy or casual. Gingham is not just for picnics. It’s a fun-loving easy-to style print that I love with jeans, white pants or skirts. For example, I’ve had this beautiful gingham wrap dress in my closet forever  but it was too short on me, but then in dawned on me, I could pair a fluted navy skirt underneath. Midnight styling sessions while the kids sleep really is paying off. However, the 7am alarm clock is a rude awakening. Thankfully, my in-laws arrive next week. She had no idea what to wear to the multiple weddings she was planning to attend this summer, so I accepted the challenge. First off, not all weddings are created equal. The bride and groom can opt for anything from high-end evening city wedding to a backyard barbecue. And everything in between. Have no fear, I covered the basics for you to arrive appropriately chic. Here’s hoping you don’t steal the show.

BLACK TIE :: Bust out your maxi dress. Long and elegant is the name of the game. I like this one.
